Dad and I decided to fish Saguaro yesterday since it was close and I was running on 4hrs sleep. We had the boat in the water by 6am and found this morning to be weather perfect. We fished til 11am and called it quits for the day after we figured we had enough for a fish fry. Doesn't take much to tire Dad out and I was ready for the ride home after we both had a bunch of fun togther. I don't know when we've laughed so much as we caught and netted these fish. On the ride back to the dock we noticed a couple youg sheep so it made for a perfect ending to our morning. Here are a few pics. First two of the day Dad, 83yr, still haven't lost the touch. Another of Dad's fish. Saw these little guys on our way back to the dock. I always try to get Peg's daycare kids in on some fun. This is Tyler. Fishing with cwt and sharing with members of this site just makes this day. Life is good!

Most were caught off the beds Jim. They've been on beds for over 3 weeks now. Dad used a 1/16oz jighead with nightcrawler and I used a drop shot rig with a 1/32 charteruse curley tail jig. Peg and I will be on San Carlos tomorrow and will post if we catch any. TJ

Nice work! Thanks for sharing. TJ

I prefer the smoker for the different flavors you can achieve from your chips but the oven or grill will get the job done. Be sure to use a cookie sheet for a drip pan. Take pictures and post them. TJ

Steffen and Skyler, thank you for letting me come along on the boat this morning even though I was watching it from my PC. I felt like I was there with y'all. You guys know how to get it done. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work you do for our entertainment. TJ

Bill, it must be nice to know people all over the world. You have lived an exciting life and I thank you for sharing some of it here on cwt. That's an awesome picture. TJ

To be honest with you it doesn't matter if it's beer or pop of any kind. I've done a ton of these. It actually keeps moisture in the bird while it's cooking. I hate to waste my beer on a chicken but it looks good in pictures. Here are a few pictures I've taken. It takes any where from a hour to two hours and you're good to go. The wife and I like to inject our birds with marinade. You can buy the kits at bass pro. Then we season them on the outside with whatever sesoning you like. Hre are a couple pictures. Just getting started. You can do them on the grill as well. The finish product. It will melt in your mouth.

I know sitting in a ground blind isn't your thing Amanda but it is a very effective piece of equipment if sitting on feed or a water hole. I would assume you're not shooting alot of poundage from your bow and this is good. Extreme penetration is not as important as tissue damage and accuracy and you need to practice alot because holding your bow at full draw for a long time is very important for waiting out the perfect shot. I lost my share of turkeys over the years shooting fixed blades before I educated myself to go with mechanical blades. I buy whatever is on sale and haven't lost one since. Mechanical blades transfer more energy than fixed blades. I carry a small piece of camo netting, 6'x6' or so, in my pocket when not using a blind. It sticks to anything and can be put in place in seconds. It mainly gives you some concellment when pulling your bow. I can't say enough about their eye sight. Stay still until you're ready to take your shot. I've been busted more than once before I even had them in range. I like my fletching in dark colors with one bright. It helps you find your turkey since a dead turkey can blend in so well but keep your fletchings covered with a camo sock made from a piece of clothing. Netting hangs up and pulls off to easily. Shot placement is higher on a turkey than most people think. Instead of me explaining go to this web page. It's one of the best shot placement videos I've seen. Go to Gone Wild Outdoors and click on shot placement on turkeys. Good luck on your hunt TJ

I just cleared up some room Gary. TJ

Gary, I wish I could but I sent it back with my reply. Have you thought about calling ADA and asking them for a copy? Just a thought! TJ

Thanks Graig for the update on the coues stories. If you haven't bought one of Graig's resource guide then you are missing out on one of the best information publication guide there is. You will ask yourself, "How did I ever not know this guide was out there." I feel so much better having one in my truck. It's as important as having a spare tire. Believe me when I say that. You won't be sorry you bought one. Thanks Graig for all you do for us sportsman, sportswomen, and for being a sponsor of CouesWhitetail TJ

As always Jim, your post are some of my favorites and this one didn't disappoint me either. Looks like a great time on the water. I've caught doubles before but not different species. That is an awesome picture of those two fish. Thanks for sharing all the pictures. TJ

I was sent the survey and wished I had copied the questions. I believe there were only 3 questions. 2 of the questions I thought were trick questions and told them so on a written reply on the back of the survey. It was worded to think you would want to say yes to helping wildlife but actually meant you were agreeing with azsfw. I can see how it might have gotten a 50/50 vote. Something like when you vote on a ballot on election day and it reads one way but means another. I feel it should have just said do you agree or not with what azsfw tried to do. Just my opinion. TJ

I don't want to rub this in but please hear me out. If you just want to hunt elk and don't care what unit then pay attention to the draw odds. I have been drawn 23yrs in a row and it looks like my cc was hit again this year so now it will be 24yrs in a row that I've been drawn for elk. I haven't always been successful but I've taken 15 archery & 2 rifle elk in 23 yrs. Hope this helps you to draw a tag. TJ
