Peg and I are looking forward to next friday. I was just thinking that if anyone of you want to purchase any t-shirts or hats it would be a good time to let Amanda know so she could bring them here. Looking forward to meeting new members. Bring the family and enjoy some refreshments. TJ

Sounds like your Dad is a proud man and one who doesn't want to ask for help even though he is disabled. I'm so glad for you all and congratultions to your Dad on a nice ram. There are great guides and great fellow hunters in this state of Az that are willing to help out. Thanks for sharing with us. TJ

Thanks for the update. I'll continue to keep you in my prayers and hope for a full recovery. Sounds to me like you will be in some serious therapy. Hope you're out of there soon. TJ

I also like the first pic of your Mom pumping her fist. Congratulations to her on an awesome buck. TJ

Wackin' and Stackin' with the Golden Ticket and Chasin' A Dream Outfitters!
tjhunt2 replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Elk Hunting
Congratulations to the Chasin' A Dream Team. Great stories Gino and thanks for sharing all your hard work and success. All the bulls are great bulls and Colton's bull is awesome to say the least. You are blessed to be able to hunt in your back yard but with that said I don't mean to take nothing away from all your hard work. I know you guys put more time and energy in scouting than the average hunter and work so hard to please your clients. Keep up the good work and good luck with anymore hunts you may have coming up. Are You Crazy Enough To Run After A Mt. Lion ;)
tjhunt2 replied to Buck Smasher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Well, I was told a story once by an old timer I met up in the superstitions. He was watching a lion stocking a young child who was left alone by the side of the road. Just as the lion leaped on to the youngin he lost sight of them in the brush. After what seemed like forever the lion was hauling a$$ with the little boy close behind. There was alot of blood and he assumed most was from the boy. After a short chase the lion fell dead and the boy, who appeared to be around 5 years of age, took his knive and started skinng the lion. A lttle while later a truck pulls up and the parents get out and started patting the little boy on the back. Later on that day the old timer met up with the family and noticed the 5yr old little boy had a complete beard. It was our own cwt member Lark! Now you know the rest of the story. TJ -
I usually don't get involved in to many dicussions on who is right or wrong but I still have another half a pot of coffee to drink so I'll chime in. How do you know they were definitely illegal ROAD HUNTERS as you say? I never read where Kevin said they were shooting from the road or using their truck as a rest. Correct me if I'm not seeing the whole picture here. So, I'm driving down a two track road and if I spot a buck I am to say to my partner we can not get out and shoot because we spotted it while driving to another spot? TJ

I have to agree with Hector. These guys should have at least asked if you were alright. Having someone looking at you thru their rifle scope is an awful feeling. Glad you were not hurt. TJ

I am extremely happy to hear that Milton was found. I assumed the worse for this dog with the cold weather and all. Glad I assumed wrong. TJ -
As much as I want to shoot one I think I would have passed this time. Just to beautiful of an animal. Maybe I really don't want one that bad. Great pictures and thanks for sharing. Go Julie! TJ

Yes it was a long read but worth every word. Peg & I send our condolences. You bet he was watching down from above and smiling. Congratulations to Jackson and Zach on their pigs and another congratulations to Jackson on his huge buck. These boys had one of the nicest guys, I've had the pleasure of meeting, to guide them through their first hunt. Your passion for the sport not only shows in your writing but in your great personality. You are what a mentor is all about. TJ

Well,I had the first coues hunt in 24B and was lucky to harvest this little buck on opening day. After dropping off my partner Scott I decided I wasn't in any shape to climb the mountain he was heading up due to my knee not recovered and healed from surgery. I drove to a spot close and pulled in to some mesquite trees and this buck stepped out of the trees. You would have thought it was my first deer hunt. I couldn't hold the cross hairs still so I got back in my vehicle and got out the tripod. He was still there watching me. I was shaking so bad and shot a little to far back. We're talking 75yrd maybe. He layed down and another 4x4 stands up. I get my radio out and call Scott. He heard the shot and was trying to get his scope on one he jumped at the same time. I asked him if he wanted the 4x4 that wouldn't leave. I drive back and pick him up. When we get back I have him watch the spot as I go investigate and jump my deer. I shoot and miss. I head up the hill where I last saw him and he jumps up again and I miss. By this time I'm thinking about letting him have some time and call Scott to get up here and grab my pack. While I'm waiting on Scott to climb the 400 yards I just traveled on my knee without feeling a thing wrong. I start to hear some heavy breathing and figured it was me since I was so excited and my heart pounding thru my chest. After holding my breath a couple times I figure it was the buck right in front of me in the brush. Scott finally gets up and I had him come in from the other side. He says he can see my buck and he looks like he's getting ready to bolt. I walk in and finish him off with a neck shot. Scott carries him down the hill and my knee gets feeling back in it and it wasn't good. He beat me back by 10 minutes and I just had myself to carry. Didn't have my camera and these aren't the best pics but here are a couple after I skinned him quick and put on ice. A few weeks later I shot an archery cow elk and didn't take any pictures of her. Just got lazy I guess.

Great pictures and stories Tines. Lance and his gang definitely know how to get it done. Thanks for sharing. Them are some nice bucks for sure. TJ

For those who throw all quad riders under the bus is like me saying I hate all bass tournament fishermen because of the ones who think they own the right to cut you off while fishieg a shoreline or blowing by you at 60mph with absolutely no respect. I don't like listening to weekenders shooting constantly while I'm hunting but know they have a right to do so and there are those who will never pick up their brass or targets. I certainly wouldn't say all target shooters are slobs. I have to say I agree with Casey's and Amanda's replies which were well said and to the point. TJ
