I, just for the life of me, have been pounding my head on how to start this post without sounding like an e-scouter. I've been around here on this site long enough to know what might get thrown my way but here goes. Here is my situation. I will be down helping out Amanda on the Women's Javelina Hunting Camp the weekend of Feb.11-13. I have signed up to be a mentor but have no knowledge of the units we are scheduled to hunt in. I know the homework and time required of a hunter that should be done prior to a hunt but there isn't going to be anytime for me to do this. I'm not sure which of the three units I will be assigned. If you would like to share some information that would be greatly appreciated and if not that's ok as well. For those who personally know me know this is out of character of me asking for anything. If it weren't for me having to work on this weekend of the Javelina Hunting Fair event I would definitely be going to help out. Sounds to me like this is going to be very educational for beginners and those seasoned hunters as well. Heck, you don't even have to have a hunting permit to go enjoy the many things they will be having during the course of the day. I encourage you to look at the web site and see for yourself all the fun stuff and vendors that will be be there. TJ

You don't need to worry about a contest TJ. All you have to do is throw out how many years in a row you have drawn an elk tag and you are a winner hands down. Congrats to the winners! If you want to be a better shooter then you might want to join a local archery club or take some lessons from an archery shop. I think it's neat that so many women are getting into archery.
