Glad someone finally brought this subject up. Where I've been dove hunting there are hundreds if not thousands of shotgun shells on the ground and it just make me sick to think anyone could think it is alright not to pick them up. I personally try and pick everyone of mine up. I don't always because of chasing a down bird but I make up for it by picking up empties while I'm waiting on birds. I usually have a bag full at the end of the day and wished more bird hunters would do the same. Sorry to get carried away and changing the message of the post. TJ

I'm very late replying to this post and can't hardly believe the size of those bucks everyone in this post shot. My congratulations to each and great stories from you all. I have never seen a buck of these size in my lifetime. All I can say is WOW and why haven't I been hunting archery bucks up there in the past. Awesome and thanks for posting.

Just wanted to share with you all the progress Lexie has made thru this year. I haven't spent the time I would have like due to the deer and elk scouting /hunting but I am pleased to say I have the start of what might become a good bird dog. Weather or not that happens she will always be my new best friend and I can't remember when I have ever had so much fun sharing her company. I have several people to thanks for the pm's and all the good advise towards her training and most of all to Ted Bounds ( aka jackshoe ) for all his advise and helping me to gun break her. Here are a few pictures during her training. 5 weeks retrieving ball. First fishing trip to Roosavelt around the camp fire. Lexie's first turkey hunt. 0002.jpg]Saguaro Lake 20 weeks Training last month on pigeons with the help of Ted Bounds. Plumb wore out. After a few hours of training last month first real bird was a pigeon last month First dove/pigeon traing. Lexie showing off her first pigeon as a cwt. dog member Lexie's first real dove hunt and first bird a few days ago. Today! Lexie dragging sticks out of the water between birds Today! Lexie's second dove hunt and she retrieved all the birds. Should have had our limit but my shooting sucks. I can't wait til we get out again. Sorry for all the pics of Lexie. Can you tell I love this dog? TJ
