Wasted My Late Dec Tag For Archery Buck
tjhunt2 replied to standman's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Congratulations on your buck. I can see why you wasted your Dec. tag and I agree. Having your Dad there to share this moment had to be the best feeling anyone could ever imagine. This one will be forever special and the memories are worth more than anything on earth. Thanks for sharing Brian. TJ -

Spent the last couple of days out chasing coues with no luck. Heard a few bugles but not much going on where I was. I did get to meet Jeremy B on the way thru Payson. He was excited about getting his meat cutting business up and running. Thanks Jeremy for the ice. While visiting with Jeremy I met another Payson guy, Noah, who I met years ago when he was kind enough to let me store my mt. lion in his walk-in while I contacted a taxidermist. It was a pleasure meeing both of you. TJ

It isn't the buck that's makeing the mistake it's you. Why in the world would you ever leave the blind knowing you have that quality of buck coming in? If you can't sit all day then plan on switching off with your partner so someone is there all day. I can be reached here if you need further assistance with this buck. Good luck and keep us informed. Beautiful buck! TJ

Many years ago, while hunting bear off of Mt Ore, I decided to curl up under a pine tree and sleep the day by while waiting on the evening glassing hour to come. The next day I was covered from head to my feet. Over a thousand I would say. Called poison control and found out that Az does have chiggers. Never knew Gino had anything to do with that. TJ

Hows your archery hunt going ?
tjhunt2 replied to Harleyfx69's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Don't give up! I also hunt where quads are present and I own quads myself. Maybe they didn't know you were in the area. Whatever the situation I wish you a better time the next time out and good luck with your hunt. TJ -
Welcome to the site and love your avatar. I have a 8 month old who looks just like yours. TJ

Three years ago I tore up my rotator cup really bad. Tore the tendons right off the bone along with it. Wasn't able to left my arm over my head or reach out and do anything with the arm. Not to scare you but it was the worse thing I ever went thru in my life. Without the help of my wife I don't know what I would have done. I once had a titanium plate replaced in my neck to fuse my vertabres together after falling off a rock chasing Jevelina and the rotator was twice as bad when it came to pain. Therapy was pretty painful but was neccesary for the healing process. Now,I don't know anyone as tough as .270. I wouldn't take any advise from him since he isn't really normal when it comes to pain or anything else for that matter. lol I do agree with his suggestion about hunting before the surgery and then have it done. If you are going to have surgery then ask around about differrent surgeons. He!!, I bet .270 could do it for you and save you a bunch of money. TJ

Can't wait to see the pictures after you harverst that one. Good luck! TJ

Yes, there are alot of decent hunters out there that will respect your spot. I've had many hunters walk in on my spots while sitting there and that will happen from time to time. I use a moving blanket from Harbor Freight and it works great for keeping the noise down. It also keeps the dirt down and keeps thing quiet while moving around in the blind. You are right about shooting a mehanical broadhead thru a screen. It doesn't work well. The last thing I will add is the only tripod stool I would sit on would be one from Double Bull. They are pretty good. I still prefer a good camp chair with arm rest that I can sleep in without falling out of. Good luck on the rest of your hunt. TJ

Them are some very nice bucks and congratulations to both the hunters. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Resist? No wonder you shot this buck. It's a beautiful buck and congratulations. TJ

What a bummer about losing all the meat but good job of sticking it out and recovering your buck. That goes along with archery hunting and it is painful to say the least but you stuck with it. Congratulations on both your bucks and thanks for sharing your story. Some would not have done that and I commend you for it. TJ
