I just can't imagine the devastation the people of Haiti are going through. I'm sure the pictures don't show all and thoughts and prayers go out to the people who have been affected by the earth quake. Some of you might have seen, on tv, where you can donate $10 thru your phone bill. It might not sound like much but if everyone in the country donated it would be a substantial amount of aid. Peg and I did our part and I hope each and everyone can find it in their hearts to do the same. TJ

What part of CIRCLE K did you miss? TJ

Sounds like a pretty exciting hunt to say the least. Thanks for sharing. Pigs are the best thing besides grandma's apple pie. Congratulations! TJ

It was farther east of greenfield and we weren't fishing. Trying to locate a few pigs which we did. My partner stuck one which we didn't recover and I was playing spotter since I was unable to stock because of my coughing. Considering being sick it was a good day just watching my partner get in on the pigs. Of course the wife said I was nuts for going. Todays got me laid up but there's always tomorrow. lol TJ

Duck hunting today
tjhunt2 replied to rogeti's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Good job on shooting them ducks. Them are some nice looking dogs. That had to be a blast watching the dogs work. TJ -
Congratulations on your pig and he looks as if he is a nice one. Great picture. What do you mean you don't like to eat them? I would rather eat pig sausage than any other game meat and that is the trueth. I'm glad to see you gave it to the Adobe Center and it didn't go to waist. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Congratulations on your first pig and sounds like you had the right guy helping you. I can't get enough of these pig stories and yours was a good one. Thanks for sharing. Good job Christian. TJ

Congratulations on your first buck. It's a thophy for sure and it brought memories back when I shot my first one many moons ago. May this be just the beginning of good things to come. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Application Anxiety
tjhunt2 replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I don't know what the pressure is all about but I just have to be alone with a beer just to calm me down when filling them out. I'm so paranoid of making a mistake that I look at them at least a dozen times. I always wait til the last minute to turn them in so they are on top. I wish they would get with the times and bring the on-line back. Easier on the old ticker. TJ -
I've been going back thru some old post and don't know how I missed this one. Awesome job Lance and congratulations to all the hunters. Them feral hogs had to be a blast to hunt. Thanks for sharing. My favorite picture is of Lexi for sure. Way to get it done girl. TJ

Congratulations to your son on a fine buck. Sounds like it was pretty excited to say the least. Thanks for sharing. TJ
-
Nice find for sure. I don't know about you but when I glass up something like that I get as excited as if it were a live buck. Thanks for sharing. TJ

If comes down to just one for sure then there is no question the 15's are the way to go. I would rather have the more expensive binos and a less expensive spotting scope than the other way around. You'll be spending way more time behind the binos. IMO TJ

That's one heck of a nice buck to start out on. I'll take that any day. Thanks for sharing the vinage picture there old man. TJ

I have had that same vidoe played out several times in the past few years and can't get enough of it. Good job on the trail cam. TJ

Are hunters managing their own deer herds?
tjhunt2 replied to Chef's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I have to agree with 'wht mtnman' on that for sure but I do agree with some of the other things that have been brought up as well. I have to agree with Bill on his "no" to hunters managing their own deer herds except for those who own or lease a big chunk of land for their own hunting purposes. Unlike javelina, deer herds can take in a very large area. I have been a meat hunter for the most of my years hunting but have converted to holding out a few times and eating tag soup. I do believe hunters can somewhat manage a pig herd but hunters can't nanage a deer herd. G&F have more tools, resources, and still have a hard time managing most of our deer herds. It's not as easy as you think. IMO Good subject and post. TJ -
Stalking a deer with a bow and getting that close takes alot of work. A dozen or so things can go wrong. Looks like you and Dad did everything right and congratulations on your bucks. TJ

quartering too shots, ethical or not
tjhunt2 replied to azdesert rat's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I know guys that would take any shot at that range but "imo" you did exactly what I would have done. There is no place in archery hunting for a low percentage shot. You did the right thing. Thanks for sharing and you will get another chance. TJ -
I wish I could post but can't seem to find one come season. Congratulations to all the hunters with their great bucks. TJ
-
Praying for a quick recovery for your Dad. Hope he's up and running around soon. The fishing season is just around the corner. TJ
