The wife and I spent 8 days in San Francisco. We saw and did more than I expected. The country side is absolutely beautiful all around SF. The food was so good I put on 12 lbs while there. I enjoyed it more than our trip to Hawaii. The different cultures living in their own little sections of town is just amazing. I would highly recommend it if you ever get a chance. I always said I didn't need to see California but now have a new perspective of the state. Some of the best looking deer country I've ever seen. Here are a few pics. Locked up after they thought the shirt was gang related. The sea gulls were nesting on the rock. One of the smaller redwoods in Muirs State Park. Can you spot the tule elk in this picture? Notice the ocean in the back ground. Several elk in this basin of Point Reyes National Park.. I've got to get a better camera. My wife Peg in China Town Drove down to Monterey Bay for the day. Sea food to die for. These trees are amazing. The pine trees grow along the shore north of SF. Thouht Amanda might like to know I did a little research on an owl project while in the bay area. She said the water was cold. San Francisco

I can see by the pictures that I missed out on another great time and a chance to see some amazing antlers. Thanks for sharing for those who couldn't make it. Besides working and my wife planning vacation it kept me away from the outings this year. Next year I get to wear the pants in the family. TJ -
MY hat is off to you Catclaw for taking on such a task. You bet them boys will remember that trip and hopefully some of them will continue to be our next generation of good outdoorsmen. Thanks for taking us along on your trip with the pics. Looks like it was a great time. TJ

Last week while on a fishing trip to the white mountains my friend Ted Bound's, (Jackshoe) wife fell and hit her head on a rock and had to be rushed to a hospital and had a couple staples put in her head. Ted brought her home and ended up taking her to the ER and having her admitted with blood clots in both her lungs. She has been in the hospital here in the valley since last week and needs your prayers to help her along. Thanks! TJ

So that must be your connection to getting 19 elk tags in a row. I knew you must have been hiding something. -Tracy Oops!

Awesome pictures. Thanks for sharing. I spent some time there a couple years ago playing Santa for the nephews and nieces and ice fished Trout Lake located just up over the pass from Telluride. Thanks for the reminder of how beautiful that country is. TJ

LYONkill.....know wonder you are so proud. He will grow up to be a great hunting partner for sure. I can tell it from the expression on his face. Huntingfool......What a beautiful little girl. She has the eyes of a whitetail hunter for sure. I wonder how young Amanda takes them in the Womens Outdoor Workshop? Thanks to you both for sharing our future CWT.com members. Let's see a few more future hunters. TJ -
Stan.....looks and sounds like you all had a great vacation. It was refreshing waking up to your post. I've never been in the area north of the lake but have fished the San Juan a few times. From the looks of the pictures I would like to check it out. Your kids and friends will remember this forever. I know parents who never took the time to take their kids anywhere and it was ashame. You are blessed my friend. TJ

I know a friend who knows a friend who is the brother-in-law to the officer who works in the department next to where the final drawing takes place and he knows the MAN who saids when to let the public know when it's time. I can't play the guessing game because I know who the MAN is and he will let the friend of the brother-in-law know when it's time to let my friend's freind know when to tell my friend who will tell me first. Did someone ask how I'm always the first to know? Now you know! I really don't have a clue. July 18th:) Good luck to everyone except those who put in for my sheep tag. TJ

Guess where I took this pic
tjhunt2 replied to hunterofcoues's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Brent....I have many pictures of the good old days of Lee's Ferry's trout but don't have a copier to show them. The wife and I fished it on our honeymoon 32 yrs ago and the average fish were 4-5 pounders. We used 4lb test line on light tackle and soon figured out we were out matched by the big ones that got away. Them were the days. Our biggest were only 7 1/2 pounders but we did see many anglers with 10lb pus. If I ever get a chance I'll pull the old pictures out. TJ -

I've camped out up river many times. Once had a badger try to get in our tent at night. Other than that and beavers I haven't seen anything but water fowl. For those who haven't been there, you are missing one of Arizona's most spectacular places on earth. TJ -

It sure sounded like everyone had a great time at the ADA banquet. I'm beginning to think that someone knows me and schedules all banguets and CWT outings around my work schedule. Thanks for sharing and that picture of Christain is priceless. We should start a post to see who can come up with the best caption for that picture. TJ

Thought I would let you all know that Ann is starting to improve after having a rough time of it. She got very sick while in the hospital and now seems to be on the mend. I thank each of you for your prayers and it definitely has helped her along the way. Ann may get to come home later this week if she continues on her progress. Thanks again! TJ

If I don't have this right please feel free to correct me. Jeff and his wife was traveling north of Roosevelt Lake to visit a friend and came to a bad place in the road and tried to make it thru. They ended up rolling their vehicle down over the hill killing Jeff and his wife crowled out and went for help. That's about all I know of the story. Jackshoe can probably fill us in a little better on what happened. I have a couple of his mounts and his work was outstanding. TJ

Thanks for sharing. As I type this I have one of Jeff Seevers mounts hanging above my head. He was the best around. His mounts still look good and it was a shame how Jeff died. He was a good old boy. You were blessed to have had your Grandfather to teach you how to hunt. I was fortunate to have the same. TJ
