Whale......If I was in the girls spot I would not have wanted the buck after you had shot it. With that said I would have done as you did, knowing after the fact that she had hit it and was tracking it I assume, I would have let her have it. I also agree with Roughcut that you will be blessed by the deer Gods as well. What goes around comes around. You are a better man for your act of unselfishness. IMO.......The law may state that whoever kills the deer is required to tag it but just because it is the law doesn't always mean it is the right and ethical thing to do. Tam......I'm with you on why anyone would want a buck that someone else had killed. And may I add as well, another buck that someone else had already shot and hadn't recovered yet. There will be some different of opions I'm sure. TJ

Kent.....nice find on the bones along with your first pics. My first pics were of nothing but blowing branches. You will definitely get better with lessons learned but you are off to a great start. TJ

I started celebrating Father's Day over a week ago by taking my Dad to Roosevelt fishing 3 days, then all my sisters, brother, and myself had photos taken to present to him at our Father's Day fish fry at my house last night. I cooked fish for 3 & 1/2 hrs. We had a house full. I then volunteered to work 12hrs today for a co-worker so he could celebrate Father's Day with his family and will finish my Father's Day gift by taking him fishing Tuesday. I thank God I still have my Father and can still enjoy the time we have left. Did you guys do anything special for Father's Day or what did the kids have planned for you? My heart goes out to those who no longer have pops around. I hope everyone had a great day. Last week at Roosevelt Pop's 09 turkey got a little wet before the picture. 80 yrs old Dad drew a 22 late rifle bull tag. I'm blessed! TJ

where are all the deer hunters?
tjhunt2 replied to bonuspointjohn's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I don't have any facts to back this but I would have to think that number of 99.3% is way off the mark. My hats off to you for volunteering your time but just because you don't see alot of people at meetings or projects doesn't mean sportsmen haven't donated in other ways. There are way to many organizations, associations, clubs, ect. to mention and each one of their members giving donations and memberships would have to better the 1,000 mark you mentioned. I'm not here to argue with you I just don't want to believe it. Maybe your right but I hope not. I recently helped on a water project and found it to be really rewarding to the soul. I feel your frustration and know of many who talk the walk but won't walk the walk. With that said I also know of many who do things behind the scene like digging out old catchments, supplying water to catchments, and donate towards the game & fish donation box on applications. So when you say you don't know what the other 99.3% of the people that want deer tags but do not offer support to projects and conservation groups, just remember there is more behind the scene than you can imagine in my opion. Thanks for bringing this up and maybe this will get more people motivated towards projects. We would like you to be a forum regular and thanks for jumping in there. TJ -
Congratulations Luke on your first dog. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing his success with us Dug. TJ

The wait has been worth it Ramon. That is a very nice buck and hanging on your wall to look at every day. Glad you finally got around to sharing your story with us all and thanks to Dad as well. Keep us posted on your next adventure to the great outdoors. Do me a favor Ramon and start a journal and write in the details of your hunt and all the hunts to come. This way when you get my age you will still remember them all. TJ ps.....Thanks for sharing Dad.
