    San Juan River NM

Thanks for sharing the fishing on San Juan. Sounds like you had pretty good fishing even though the lake was turning over. This will be the first year in many that I won't be there in April so this made my day looking at your pictures. Thanks! TJ

    Senseless brutality

I'm not sure how I missed this one as well. Thoughts and prayers that Becky has recovered from her injuries and the emotional sterss she went through. These guys should never see the outside of a prison ever. How is she doing Gary? TJ

Get in shape for that Elk tag!

My neighbor just got home from the military and his brother and him just hiked Camel Back Mountain. He is in as good as shape as a person can get. We were drinking beer on the front porch and he was telling me how he burned on the way up the mountain. Him and his brother told me I couldn't make it up the mountain and they would have to call 911 on my butt. I'm as fat as I've ever been and they are probably right. Have any of you done the mountain? Peg said I can't do it and they say the same. Now that pisses me off and I want to challenge them. Maybe it's the beer or just my ignorance. What do you guys think? TJ

    Campfires

520HUNT & AZLance..............I hear what you both are saying and you both have valid points. I would rather see more inforcement and fines than complete closure of the forest actually. TJ

Get in shape for that Elk tag!

There is no doubt I need to get in shape for elk season but I just don't have the funds to buy this. Maybe I should cut back on the beer and the second and third helpings. Looks like a good buy for someone. TJ

    2000 29ft Mallard 5th Wheel

I started this 5th wheel at $8500 on Craig's List and dropped it to $7500 where I started here on cwt. I kept Craig's list the same price and dropped it here on cwt to $6800. In the last week I've had 4 people call and said they were coming to look at it and then never showed. Not even a courtesy call to let us know they weren't coming. Today was another from a person from Tucson. This trailer is now back up to $7200. I'm a happy camper I didn't have to give it away. TJ

    Campfires

I don't think closures are silly. Your right it does keep the good people out but if it just keeps 1 fire from starting a catastrophe then it's worth it. TJ

    Another Premium Elk Tag

Just now checked my cc and I've been hit for $135. I think it's going on all night so don't go to bed. Keep checking. There are going to be a lot of happy hunters come morning. Good luck everyone! TJ

    Another Premium Elk Tag

Late archery something. IMHO it's the best to be had. TJ Ok, to be quite honest I would love to hunt elk during the rut. Those who get to do so are blessed. Hunting archery late elk means more to me than having to wait several years to be drawn for a rut hunt. I have done ok even though I don't have the excitement of them coming in screaming their heads off. I still spend time during the rut scouting so I have the best of both worlds. imho TJ

    Campfires

Thanks for putting it out. I too put out several each year. I wish the forest service would put up more signs or just shut down the campfires over the summer months. Thanks Seldom Drawn TJ

Should I switch to a drop away?

Well, I haven't tried them all, but most, but I will say in my experience if there is a moving part I can assure you sometime will go wrong sooner or later. I certainly don't want to chance that in a hunting situation. I agree accuracy is much better anytime you aren't making contact with any part of the arrow but I'm strictly a close range shooter so the difference in accuracy with the whisker biscuit doesn't bother me any. Now I know someone is going to ask what is a close range shooter. I take great pride in seeing how close I can get to an animal before shooting with my bow and I don't need to worry about an arrow falling off my rest or moving around at close range so that is why I have gone to the whisker biscuit. Under 20yrd is my goal and my last 6 elk were shot under 15yrds. Now, how that makes me a lazy peep I'm not sure but maybe johnnie blaze could go more into detail so us lazy peeps have a better understanding of ourselves.

Should I switch to a drop away?

I've tried them all. If you're shooting competition then try all the rest but when it comes to hunting and you don't want any problems then stay with a WB No worries when it comes to arrows falling of the rest or any mechanical problems that will occur at the worse moment with other rest. Whisper Biscuit! TJ

Just said goodbye to a Great friend

My condolences on your loss. She was a beautiful dog and there's no doubt she was as much family as family. Thoughts and prayers for everyone and a very special prayer to help get your daughter thru this. After all these years I still find it hard to say goodbye when our pets have lived out their lives. I'm sure she had the best care and love a pet could ever receive. Thanks for sharing her beauty with us. TJ
