My wife and I purchased an OTC Ham Hunt for 36B and we never even have stepped foot in the unit ever. We are going down from Mesa and setting up camp for Amanda's Woman Javelina Pig Hunt a week early, the 7th of this week, so we can hunt for pigs before the women get there.. I don't care about me shooting, I've shot my share, but would like to get my wife a chance at getting a shot at a pig. So many members on here call this E-Scouting. I guess it is but I'm willing to exchange a pig, for my wife, for a lot of good information on a 22N elk hunt. Please reply with pm or send me an e-mail at tjhunt2@cox.net. We will be camped at the designated pig camp Amanda has chosen for the women. Most of you who know us know how much we love the javelina meat and we can't get enough. Thanks for any information and help. TJ

Congratulations to you and your wife Jim. That's awesome news. Can't wait to see pictures of our new cwt member. God bless! TJ

Pigs are more active at night than most people think. So many think they sleep all night like we do but just the opposite. They crash just before daylight when it's colder than they are use to. TJ

If I were you I would give ColburnandScottOutfitters a call. They are sponsors and will have no problem answering your questions. TJ

Good job Nate. I just borrowed the claw from a friend and hope to put it to good use on my wife's ham hunt. Congratulations on another dog. TJ

This is what makes this site what it is. Members like yourself helping out and educating our next generation is what is needed by a lot of hunters. Thanks for that and congratulations to Jackson. Nice post! TJ

That's a good question Debbie. I hear pigs have been seen as far north as Flagstaff and I see pigs during my Nov. elk hunt every year north of Payson. The pig herd I hunt feed most of the night then bed hours before daylight even when the temperatures are below freezing.. They stay bunched up and head for their sunny bedding grounds at first light. Remember they have been feeding most of the night and still have full bellies. They normally lay by themselves in the sun and will stand once in a while and feed some. As the day warms my herd moves to thicker cover. Towards the evening they are up and feeding right up and thru most of the night. Sorry Debbie for getting off track. I don't know how cold effects them above 5,000ft but they seem to survive somehow. They are tougher than we give them credit for. Look forward to seeing you soon. Good luck on your pig hunt. TJ

This has become one of my favorite post. I can see thru the writing how excited everyone is getting just to hear back from Flatlander on their odds. I wish everyone of you the best of luck. Flatlander.........You deserve much more than a pat on the back for wanting to help our cwt members with all their draw odds. It's guys like you that make this site what it is, THE BEST, and I thank you sir. TJ

Congratulations to Joe on his goat and to you on a good 2013 season. Bummer about the bull in Colorado. I would have been sick to my stomach as I'm sure you were. If that ever happens to me I would look the land owner up and have him tell me in person. I would offer to butcher the meat for him in return for the head. You might have gained a friend and access in the future. If he still insisted on not letting me retrieve my bull I would at least feel some what satisfied after what I would have said to him. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the 2014 season. TJ

That bird looks bigger than 17.3lbs. Congratulations on a good bird Tommy. You certainly had a good 2013 season. I've never hunted turkeys on the San Carlos but seen a bunch up there. They have some of the most beautiful country in our state. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Great write up Tommy. Congratulations on both of your bucks. That's a pretty neat trick on how to get out of a vaction to go hunting. Probably only work once though. I'll have to keep that in mind. Nice looking toy hauler by the way. TJ- 11 replies

I wished I hadn't seen this post. My wife seems to think our Lexie, yellow lab, needs a playmate. If all the pups are as beautiful as their parents you won't have any problem selling them. I think I hear my wife waking up, got to sign out quick. TJ

Congratulations on your first. By the looks of your pictures you will soon have #2 under your belt. Thanks for sharing your story of the hunt and all the pics. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a coueswhitetail.com sticker on the window of the truck. TJ
