tjhunt2 replied to aguas's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Nothing beats hunting with family. Congratulations on a great buck. Thanks for the story and pictures. TJ -
That looks awesome Steven. When I get a chance to get back in the woods I'm going to shoot a few and try your recipe. I ate lots of fox squirrels as a kid growing up in Ohio. Thanks for sharing. TJ

There's no doubt you miss your Pa tremendously. I'm sure many stories will be told of your Pa around the campfires. You're blessed to have had a great man bring you into this world and guide you along the way. My sincere condolences and I'm sure you will pass on what he has taught you as you continue to carry on your family traditions. Thanks for this post and for sharing this memory of the two of you. Memories are a true blessing from God. TJ

Congrats on your bear and your awesome friends to be along side you during your hunt and the packing out of that canyon. TJ

Now I remember what it was I liked about you. I would not have expected anything other than what you did. Thanks for sharing Brian. It was a very good thing the kids got to witness. An officer showing his gratitude towards their Dad for being the top notch guy that he is. Glad to call you a friend my friend. TJ

Casey, no matter where you go I wish you and your new bride a wonderful evening out. I found out over the years it's not how much you spend but just the idea that you remembered the date. OH, you haven't got to that point yet, sorry. Keep it fun and make it all about her. They seem to like that. Congratulations on anniversary #1. TJ

If I were you I would buy a havalon knife from this site. Then buy a good knife of another brand for a backup. Many good brands to choice from that won't break the bank. TJ

I have been in contact with azgfd in the past week and it all depends on who you talk to. One game & fish employee told me only ranchers could put salt out and it was illegal for hunters to use any salt. Then I talked with another employee, from another regional office, and she said it was ok to put out the white or mineral salt. Ten minutes later she called me and told me no salt by hunters where allowed and she changed her mind because she talked with the first regional office that I talked with. Then my buddy called the phoenix office and actually talked to a field officer and the officer gave him his badge # and name. The field officer said it was ok to use the white and the mineral blocks by hunters. I'm going with what the field officer said and take my chances. I also will carry a copy of his name and badge # along with a copy of the new ruling with my license just in case. TJ

I'm what you call a duck hunter want-a-be. I bought all this in hopes to get into duck hunting but all I do is move it all from place to place. I buy the duck stamps every year but just can't find the time to ever get out and now need the space along with the cash for the 2014 hunt license and spring permits. So here is a chance for someone to pick up my gear at what I think is a very fair price. 1. 43 decoys / 29 decoys are still in plastic never used. The used decoys are in fair/good shape. 2. 3 goose decoys / foam shell with removable heads / don't look used. 3. 500' braded cord looks to be close to full / 24 weights 4. Avery decoy bag / used with straps showing wear. 5. Hunter Specialty decoy bag / never used. Huge 62" x 36" 6. Motorized dabbler mallard runs on 3 "D" batteries. Here is what I came up with in price. Everything used came up to $130 if bought new today. I will take half off the price at $65. The rest of the never used decoys and Hunter Specialty decoy bag comes to $125.I will take an additional 10% off that price at $112.50. Your cost for all this is $177.50 which I think is a very fair price and I will donate 10% of that to coueswhitetail. Some of the used decoys fair to good shape. Takes 3 "D" batteries 500' braded cord, weights, and 2 ducks to be filled with sand or rocks I guess. Avery decoy bag. Bag good but straps show wear. Never used still in plastic / 12 decoys Never used / 10 decoys Never used still in plastic / 7 decoys Never used decoy bag from Hunter Specialty/ Huge 62" x 36" with shoulder straps.
