    RIP GameHauler

It's with a heavy heart I share the passing of a long time cwt member and friend Mike Leas, aka GameHauler. He passed away June 14th at his home in Payson, Az. He lift behind two beautiful daughters, Dani and Linnea. I had the pleasure of making many good memories with Mike and the girls on many hunts. One of my favorite Topics Mike started on here was "Let's See Them Kids". My thoughts and prayers are with Mike's family and friends. TJ

    Lets See Them Kids

With the passing of GameHauler I thought it was appropriate to share one of many memories we had together. This was opening day and his daughters shot their first gobblers. Mike will be missed but never forgotten. RIP my friend!

    Woodbury Fire

The Superstitions hold a special place in my heart. It's where I first started hunting when I came to Az. I've hunted the Reeves Ranch area and stayed in the cabin several times and camped in the orchard as well. I've rode horses in there and the wife and I have hiked in several places in our younger days. I have always called it my playground. Yes it saddens me that so much is burning. I hope and pray the monsoons get here fast but it's not looking good. โ˜น๏ธ TJ

    help coues unit 24b

I just got done reading thru this whole post. First of all welcome to the coueswhitetail.com site. When I first came to Az, back in the early 70s, I too was looking for information on hunting deer as a newbie. I just wish I had this site to get me started on my way. Second of all, you definitely have started in the right direction by joining this site. The info you have received here so far is from hunters who are sharing their experiences they have learned over their years of hunting. It doesn't get any better than this. This is what sets this site apart from all other hunting forums, guys wanting to help, and believe me you have a whole lot of good pointers from great guys who no what they are talking about. Good luck in the draw. If you don't draw 24B don't worry. There will be lots of great left over tags in the southern units with lots of good deer hunting. Not much to add from what has already been said. It's never to early to start scouting the unit. Even if you don't draw where you're scouting the experience of glassing and looking for deer will help no matter where you hunt. Good luck! ๐Ÿ˜Š TJ v

    Super Raffle tag buck...

Thanks for sharing this video Shelvin. I would not have shot this buck with a muley tag. I was told many many years ago that we had hybrids and I also was told by azgf that the tail would be the main factor in determining muley or whitetail. I say whitetail. Never the less it's a dandy of a buck. TJ

    New Fire on the Rim

I'm in Colorado but the word got to me about the fire above where I normally camp. ๐Ÿ˜ž Not what I wanted to hear. So does fire restrictions start tomorrow in all of Tonto? TJ
  8. I took my 9 yr old lab to a snake trainer named Roger Mae from Tonto Basin. I thought he did a good job. This is the third time I've had my dog thru this. Probably a little further than you want to travel. Good luck with your dog. โ˜บ๏ธ TJ

    Mt Rushmore

I left Az 3 weeks ago for my niece's wedding to be on June 29th in South Dakota. Been staying here in Grand Junction, co but heading north next week to Cheyenne then on to Nebraska State Park before arriving at a KOA near the entrance of Badlands National Park near Interior for the wedding. After the wedding the wife and I will be spending 7 days in a camp ground near Mt Rushmore over the 4th of July. Our first time there so was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what to see or do around the area of Mt Rushmore? Been a while since I've posted on here but feels good to finally be back on cwt. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions in case I loose my access to the site. TJ

    Mt Rushmore

Thanks everyone. Looks like the wife and I are going to be busy thanks to y'all. If we can't get it all in our 7 day stay we'll just stay a little longer. Now I'm excited to get there. โ˜บ๏ธ TJ

    Hunterโ€™s Big Chance 2019

So, I look at my second post of the morning and it gets even better. To my surprise it's your post Andrew again. I'm all in for these donated hunts. If I don't take better care of myself in the near future there is a chance I might be donating a tag or two. I wish Hunter the best of luck on the antelope hunt. Can't wait to see some pictures Andrew. That's a great picture of you two on the deer hunt. Thoughts and prayers Hunter beats his condition and gets better as he grows. TJ

    Moosings - Idaho - 2019

I woke up this morning and poured a cup of coffee, then said to myself, "I haven't been on CWT in a long time." Man, am I glad I did. This is the first post I looked at and what a surprise to see you drew a moose tag Andrew. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. The only thing I know about moose is I drank a lot of beer back in the day at the moose lodge. The trailer looks like a good start for camp and I wish you the best of luck. TJ

Said major repair needs to be done. I don't want someone taking advandage of her. Anyone want to come and give an estimate and verify her peoblems? Thanks! TJ
