Late Season Archery Bull tag Unit 22N

I've hunted this unit a few times in the last half dozen years and will be helping my Dad on a late rifle hunt in 22N this fall. I'd be happy to share what I've learned so far about the unit and take some quid pro quo on what we both learn scouting this summer and fall. Private message me if you are interested.

    Unit 22 south cow?

I don't know that area nearly as well as most on here, but I hunted it for Coues last year and saw elk in 2 different areas. First was south west of Doll Baby Ranch along Pole hollow canyon. That's into the Mazatzal wilderness, the other area was due east of the Jim Jones shooting range. Good luck

    22 N backpack hunt

Nobody likes getting catfished....especially on hunting tips. I'll stick around and let you guys know how it goes. I was able to get the whole week of the hunt off work so if nothing else I'll come back with stories of hiking through and around every nasty canyon we can find.

    22 N backpack hunt

Hi all, New to the site, I wish I had found it years ago but didn't expect there to be this much elk talk on a Coues site! My nephew and I have 22N late rifle tags. We aren't exactly new to the unit, we've hunted it twice before, and we've had boots on the ground a few times already this summer and are headed back out this Saturday for an over-nighter. Both times we hunted it before we had my dad with us, which made for amazing trips, but at his age and mobility we were limited in how far we could get off the roads. After the last hunt he decided it was time to hang it up so this year it's just me and my nephew hunting together. It's hard to imagine a hunt without him there, but at the same time we can't wait to get the heck away from all the trucks and UTVs! If anyone with knowledge of the unit has interest in letting me pepper them with questions on areas, trails, access points, and ways to get away from motorized hunters, I'm more than happy to pay in beer, or info on hunting Oregon Muleys! I can name drop the places we've had boots on the ground so far if that helps. Not looking for animals this time of year just trying to learn the lay of the land and confirm glassing points to add to OnX.
