What we’re everyone’s thoughts on 36a this year? Wife has her first hunt going on right now, probably head down after Christmas for the week unless we hear things are rutting early.

Let me know if CalebWalter falls through. I’ll take it. -
Here’s a few of the 8 bulls that I was fortunate enough to help out on this year. We had some awesome hunters that could all get it done when the pressure rose. Happy hunting.

Should be plenty of good bulls on the late hunt. We had a great few weeks, will get some pictures posted soon. Was just wondering how the rest of the unit was.

How’d everyone do in 8 the last few weeks?

We got a warning from BLM that our trailers were gonna have to be moved. It was a 2 week limit and they were gonna have to be moved 30miles minimum. We called the BLM LEO and explained that we’re not squatters and we’re occupying and scouting for upcoming hunts. LEO was very cool and reasonable and allowing us to stay through the end of the hunts. Squatters are a problem for sure, and people using the forest as a storage unit.

What site is that? I need some and that looks pretty hot -
From my understanding and chats with Azgfd, they will not be splitting up the dates. If the harvest is reached in august, the December and January seasons will be closed.

If hiring a guide is what you’re thinking, I’d find one you wanna hunt with first and then apply based on their recommendations. Get on their list for when ya draw so it’s a simple phone call instead of scrambling looking for reputable guide. Also, get references for the actual guide you’re going to hunt with, not just the outfit. Biggest mistake I see people make. good luck!!

Very tough hunt on the strip this year. Killed 1 archery buck that was 205+ in 13b. Rifle was very tough, deer spread out and numbers down. Killed 4 bucks, all old which was the goal. the guys in 13a killed an awesome old deer on the rifle hunt. The summer rains filled a lot of waters and the feed looked fantastic. Very low fawn survival though. We’ll have to see what things look like next year, I’m not super optimistic.

G&F commission voted unanimously to ban trail cams

My point was under the definition of the AZGFDs fair chase, how is 24hr surveillance of water holes fair chase? No I’m not asking what your definition is or anyone else’s here. I’m going by what their definition is. Now, do I agree with it? To a point yes. There are absolutely problems areas, strip, 9, kaibab, this, my opinion, can’t be argued. Do I think the Coues guys running cams on salt in the back country is a problem, no. But something needed to be done about the problems. And this was their solution. -

With the current drought conditions we have, how can 24hr monitoring of water sources be considered fair chase? It pays respect to the traditions of hunting and angling by emphasizing the development of an individual’s skills rather than reliance on practices or technologies that overwhelm the quarry’s ability to elude detection or take. -
