How does a guy draw his first choice bull tag? All I can seem to do is draw my second choice bull tag EVERY year...👊🏻

I would absolutely start scouting now!! Especially if you are not very familiar with the unit. Learn all the roads, good out and hike. Be looking for glassing spots, canyons, just get out and learn the country!! My one rule while hunting and guiding...there is ALWAYS something you can do to improve your odds. Sitting at home watching TV is not improving your odds, neither is sitting in camp during the hunt. Sounds like your current set up will be just fine. Get a good cut on contact broadleaf and start shooting!! Congrats man!!

My brother and I had some success on a couple nice bulls on a late archery hunt. Tough hunt but made the opportunities count when we had them. Both bulls shot spot and stalk! Personally don't think it'll be any tougher to draw because of the extreme difficulty of these hunts.

Full length Victory Vap 250s with a 90gr insert and 125 gravediggers get total to 575 grains. Shoot them at 298....should get the job done. PSE freak at 79lbs and 32.5 inches of ya wanna know what pushes those rebar that fast.
