Those who say you would shoot, shovel and shut up if you came upon a wolf need to realize the penalty for shooting a wolf in Arizona is beyond severe. If found and convicted, you would be subject to prison time, a huge fine and the loss of certain rights, including the right to vote and own/possess firearms. It isn't worth it.

    Bill Quimby

$50,000 reward for arrest and conviction with over 36 wolves shot..... come on.. nobody has that good of friends. The first time they try and convict somebody a DNA test will be demanded and that will be the end of the hybrid program.
Your saying that 36 wolves have been shot and not one conviction yet?
On March 6th and 8th 2000,James Rodgers from Eager, Az. and a juvenile were charged with the killing of a wolf pretty sure james was convicted but I can't find the punishment.
    Food for thought.......

  2. I started purchasing class F adult hunt and fish licenses for my kids when each of them turned about 6 years of age...I did this because they were then entitled to keep full limits of fish...this was always far easier then my trying to explain to them why Daddy or Mommy could keep fishing and they had to stop when they only had half as many fish...I did not mind in effect donating a little extra to the AZGF...I started buying them adult licenses in about 1990 after 1st running it by the Phoenix AZGF office who while admitting it was somewhat of a novel idea saw no violation of the law...several times while in the field I was required to explain to the AZGF officer why my kids had a few more fish on their stringer then initially seemed appropriate...My kids always very proudly produced their licenses for an inspection and I never had an officer do anything other than smile and maybe shake their head in agreement that I was in fact following the letter of the law... obviously there's been numerous changes to Arizona's fishing and hunting Licensing Laws since the 1990s...I did a quick review and did not see anything that would prohibit me from doing the same thing again...However I strongly suggest that anyone considering following my lead in this matter first review the current laws with the Phoenix AZGF office..........

  3. I have both the Taurus model 85 and 605...my 83 year old mother prefers the 5 shot model 85 .38 special over any of the "newfangled self loaders" that I've had her try out...both pistols are definitely good shooting guns and the 85 was accurate enough for her to have qualified for a CCW permit which is still valid today...my model 605 357 Magnum has a shrouded hammer, is extremely concealable and accurate...the model 85 can still be found for around $250 with the model 605 coming in at about $300...I think that you might find either one of these handguns to be to your liking.......

  4. I have most of the Ruger's mentioned and they are very fun to shoot... I also have a 6 inch Smith & Wesson model 622 and a 4 inch model 422...both of these guns are extremely lightweight and balanced which makes them a good choice for beginners... even though they are out of production they're easily found on the various used gun websites......

  5. I'd continue to wait only because it's early in the season and my love of being out in the mountains hunting is greater than my need to fill the freezer...I know that's probably not all that helpful to you but that's my story and I'm sticking to it...good luck to you............

  6. Probably not your missing phone however might be worth taking a look...

Yesterday September 24th, this guy posted the information found below on Facebook in the Broadhead Brotherhood group:

    "Jessy Cates"

I found a cell phone on the 249, north of Alpine. Thought it flew of the trailer in front of me, but the lady said it wasn't their phone. So if you lost one around there. Message me the brand, model, color and I will get it back to you. I can't turn it on to call anybody on it to find ot who to send it to. Doesn't apear to be broke.

Lol at how many people think its from "the drought"

I don't know if I would laugh at them but I would agree there are far more factors involved than drought.

Population and groundwater pumping increases come to mind but I'm no expert, what are you referring to, Joe?

I agree that increased water usage by the communities surrounding Upper and Lower Lake Mary, Marshall, Mormon and Stoneman Lakes have had a huge detrimental effect on current water levels...But I also believe that the decades-long decline in yearly rain totals is by far the greater reason why Russell tank, Long Lake and many other bodies of water scattered throughout Arizona continue to dry up year after year..........

  8. In the late 70's Stoneman Lake was putting out one state record yellow perch after another...Mormon Lake consistently produced decent sized pike, walleye and more than a few yellow-belly bullheads...and just about all the nearby cattle tanks we're loaded with water dogs and little yellow-belly bullheads... Russell tank used to be a good out-of-the-way blast and cast spot for ducks and trout...if you fished it right Oak Creek would even come through with an occasional 18 plus inch brown trout...Kinnikinick lake was a mighty fine place to connect with an oversized brown trout too...from late January right into mid February we would catch decent 12 fish limits of rainbows through the ice at Ashurst lake...back then you would get so many Hammer handle size pike out of Lower Lake Mary that your arms got sore from casting... and boy did we slay the walleyes whenever the Upper Lake spillway was running in the lower Lake... I sure had high hopes of introducing all that good fishing to my children...too bad those lakes went into a steady decline and just never recovered from this decades-long drought that were experiencing.........

  9. sorry

yeah I know - looks like FFL needed if you are having someone pick it up for you - they may have changed stuff a little .

I'm thinkin last yr it took an ffl license to bid - I may be wrong - or read it wrong- could still be reading it wrong - lo

but they do have a few guns ever so often - sometimes some sleepers

are you asking what an FFL is ?

No sir, I was just suggesting that because more people are aware of this auction, there would probably be more FFL holders bidding... LOL... That is good information about the property for sale... I understand that, due to proposed housing developments, some parts of Cochise County are going to experience quite a bit of growth...Thank you for the information.........
