Locked gates on private or leased property
coueshunter replied to gotcoues's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
desertbull....i am thinking there may be a way to give a tax break/incentive from state or county to the landowner who participates in a program for public access......don't want to use wildlife funds, just an idea that may have merit....sure can't hurt to look into ........allen -
Locked gates on private or leased property
coueshunter replied to gotcoues's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Justin, I think you coming up with ideas/plans is great.....we need to look into tax credits like big companies get to relocate here......we need to make it worth the ranchers time but not create hunter fee access situation...keep researching/looking into ideas.......allen Taylor.... -
Kieth. I. totally agree....I read through the bylaws and saw the 2/3 vote to remove officers. I hate the infighting.....without communication from Ada letting us know why the board supports privatizing a public resource, I can't continue to support Ada as it is governed right now. I am ready to volunteer to be on a board, just need to see where theses orgs stand......every board seems to want to sit back and see where the azsfw is at, and to me that will be to late.........this bill needs to be killed and anything like it stopped in the future......allen

Keith.....the bylaws of Ada. call for 2/3 vote by the board members to remove an officer. members can't just vote the board out I don't think. I really think all orgs right now are in a situation where they lack credibility. this may sound like heresy but I think there are way more people out in cyberspace that watch what's going on and have been waiting for groups to make a stance and that hasn't happened. also the lack of communication by the org before, during and in this interim time has been lacking. all in all I think this situation hb2072 could be a time to really get us all together but the only existing group doing any good is azgfd......we need to unite but I am unsure with whom?.......as is a good start but we need a statewide deer org.......currently Ada has to many unanswered questions......allen....

Tony/Bill: You two seem to be against "privatizing a public resource" which is what HB2072 does. If I am correct in my opinion, here is what us "average joes" could use help in: 1. Media contact-----You guys spent years and years with media. Please get someone to print something from our perspective If you will, either call your contacts or post some contacts that we can get immediate, positive impact that will help generate support from politicians..............Thanks..........Allen Taylor..........

Predator Control funded in Utah
coueshunter replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
desertbull & javihunter.........I seriously can't believe you both are accussing me of falling into 'their trap,. why use your fingers without thinking? predator control has always been a sound strategy. long long before azsfw. my point is I have always believed that putting money into killing predators is a good thing......... -
Our own faults
coueshunter replied to donniedent's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Scott & Donnie both have valid points. if all of us don't put some effort forth on projects/donations/volunteering etc....we aren't doing the wildlife any good on the ground where it counts.....step up now and do what you can.......allen.... -

audsley.........Pete is one of the original founders of azsfw. on the board of governors of Ada.....has been active in wildlife management for 30 plus years. he recently sent out a letter that he thought hb2072 should die. I was hoping his message was heard last night......... -
Predator Control funded in Utah
coueshunter replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
the specific allocation of money towards predator control will definitely help deer/antelope/elk. it sure won't hurt. fawn survival is a key component that drives our herd populations. I am totally for setting monies aside for lion/coyote bounty.....allen.... -

coueshunter replied to donniedent's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Kevin,amanda,terry.....I haven't heard from john or Pete about how the meeting went last night, but all in all, I still wonder why privatizing a public resource was OK in azsfw's mind? I think everyone agrees that we need more money/unity in the hunting community to address population numbers, access, recruitment & anti-hunting legislation, but why didnt the azsfw people reach out to the various conservation groups to get input and ideas????? even after the blow up on this bill, there hasn't been the needed communication. I sure hope Pete got support to kill hb2072 last night.....if anyone has heard what happened, post it or call me....allen Taylor...... -
I spoke with runningbird/mark today. HB2072 is being attached to some other bill (maybe 1300 or 1305) that is related to wildlife. I dont know how to find out, maybe someone can find out the "wildlife related" bills and then contact the bill sponsor to make sure the sponsor knows how opposed many sportsmen are to HB2072........WE ALL NEED TO PITCH IN WHERE WE CAN RIGHT NOW to stop the passage.............Allen Taylor...........

ABSOUTELY ON THE MARK. We complain, bicker, fight etc...but we dont donate time/money/energy towards prevention. We are really good at REACTING but not real good at PREVENTING. Open your minds, schedules, wallet and do whatever you can now and from here on out to create unit within the Hunting community...............if you dont know how/what, send me an email and I will give suggestions.............Allen Taylor........... -
azsfw&azsfwc are meeting Tuesday night at suzzane gilstraps office to discuss hb2072 and any changes the orgs like Ada/aaf/adbss etc think need to be changed before the bill moves forward in the current legislative session. if anyone knows any board members of the groups, it would be a good time to contact them. contact anyone you can think of to head this off.........allen Taylor....

2072 not dead
coueshunter replied to coueshunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
My suggestion to everyone is to contact their legislators to be on the lookout for anything similar to HB2072 that may hit the floor this week. Hopefully Tony Giles at AZGFD is watching out for this...........Allen Taylor......... -

before anyone jumps to conclusions, amanda has asked all moderators to try and use their judgement to keep the forum clean/no attacks/bad language/etc....Jim made a call and that is that....we don't want to over moderate, but we need to keep civility. sorry if this causes some to speculate......allen Taylor......there is no hidden agenda -
AZSFW Latest Tactic and ADA and AAF Positions
coueshunter replied to 40-year-AZ-hunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
jack, I heard the identical pitch you just presented and it was presented back in 2005/2006 as the reason to set up azsfw. I was hesitant back then but I gave in and trusted those same guys, figuring they must know more than me. now I can't support them, they either are intentionally secretive or have a side agenda because they still have not come out with tangible threat that shows why they should control all the money, decision making and management of Arizona's wildlife. everyone understands the 4 main tenants of azsfw's letter to sportsmen. we all have agreed that 1. access to private lands. 2. recruitment & retention 3. predator control 4. environmentalist threats...........are the major issues we face. problem with all the guys related to hb2072 is that none of them can explain how they will do these functions any better. I. personally have met with many of these backers and could not be provided with 1 example of a new plan to address the 4 areas of concern. that being said, I have zero comfort level that they will efficiently spend our resources for the betterment of wildlife.......allen Taylor...p.s. there has been ample time for anyone affiliated with hb2072 to contact me or some of the forums with a pln outline showing what they would do any better than the current system. transparency would sure be a fresh tactic -
Kevin is in a better place.....prayers are sent for the family......allen

coueshunter replied to 40-year-AZ-hunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Whoever has trash talked Amanda needs to shut up. Also, dont post that she needs to make some kind of decision on a website, have enough tact to send her a private email. She does tons and tons of good for wildlife, and has a very good head for right and wrong. Saying anything to the contrary lets me know that you dont know her. The time she donates to ADA and other non-profits comes at a high personal expense. Dont drag her into "guilt by association". The members of the board of ADA all have their own opinion on HB2072. Amanda is against HB2072.....especially the "privatization of a public resource". Lets keep this civil............Allen Taylor......... -
I think that would be a great idea.....allen....

nick, I just got off the phone with Justin pierce and he said I could quote him. he has serious issues with hb2072 as it exists.....I would say Justin is on our side.....if a strker comes up, he would most likely evaluate it, but hopefully look for some of the details that make the current bill so objectionable.....allen Taylor........good job nick........ -
I wonder if we should give recognition to outfitters who oppose hb2072? I got a call today from Duwane Adams. www.arizonabigamehunting.com. he is totally opposed to hb2072 and appreciates all that is being done to stop the bill. his outfit could actually benifit by it but he is against privatizing the public resource. there are other outfitters out there like that, so shouldn't they be recognized?......allen Taylor.....
