    Hey Amanda!!

Amanda I talked to Duwane and he would have no problem if you wanted to take a picture of his monster and use it for the logo. I am like Josh, I would buy most anything with coues on it..........Thanks Allen.........

    ARIZONA OUTDOORSMAN

I wont giggle at anyone after my misses last year. I missed at 509 & a slam dunk at 318 standing and know what it feels like. I still think about the 318 and know exactly what I did wrong and hopefully it never happens again.............Allen......

    Is there gas in Globe?

Brett, the texaco right at the florence turn off before queen valley had gas last night so maybe you top off there. Amanda could tell you about Globe. As for Taylor, they said on the phone today there is plenty of gas when we called the Basha's store up there. A buddy is heading up to hunt and we just called..........AT.......

    Newly Retired Forester/Bowhunter

Chuck, like Jason said the book will line out general areas within alot of units and give you more info in the time it takes to read the book than you could gain by going on your own learning for a couple years. There are alot of units like 33 up peppersauce canyon road, 36c up any of the ranch roads that allow access and alot of this info is posted on the AZGFD website but will be much more detailed in the book which will be sold or is being sold on this website. The last I was told is the book is at the printers and if there was no delay it will be ready this next week to be mailed out. Amanda may have the latest news but Duwane was told the 18th of August by the printers. order the book, read it and then post questions about any unit you picked and all of us will help where we have some experience.........Allen Taylor..............

    rattling sheds for sale

Jason, you dont need actual coues sheds you could use regular small whitetail sheds and buy some off ebay for 10 - 15.00 . I doubt many guys would want to sell the sheds they picked up because its normally pretty rough getting into the area you are shed hunting but I may be wrong. I dont think the coues can figure out a difference if you used muley, blacktail or whitetail horns for rattling. What does everyone else think...........Allen........

It is the same dude. antlerboy/josh/josh essperson............which issue are you looking at.???.......its a great magazine and this website actually has quite a few great coues hunters giving advice that have been writing articles or have been in many AZ publications.........bullwidgeon, Josh, Sniper, crazyaboutcoues, prohunt and many other people. This is a fantastic source for people to learn and keep learning.. Take Duwane the featured guide here. He has shot lots and lots of coues himself and guided people to lots of B&C bucks. He personally has a 139" coues on his wall he shot years ago that would make you gag its so big........use this website and support it where possible to keep it going strong.............Allen........

    Mexico trips planned

Jason, I hunted Mexico last year to complete my deer slam. Year before that I went to Kodiak and hunted sitka's and had a blast despite the bays being frozen over which made it tough to get to some of the better hunting spots. As far as Mexico, its the best place to go for maximizing the chance at a B&C buck. You need to be careful of who you book with to ensure they are not just a ranch with tags discounted. You will need to pay any decent outfitter 3500 - 4000.00 if you expect trophy quality. If not and you are hunting an OVERHUNTED ranch, you will see lots of deer but very few if any over 100" and come home disappointed. I am no expert but did alot of research on outfitters and asked many people like Duwane, Kirk, Jay Scott etc.....about what to expect, how to make the trip enjoyable and not a circus, what paperwork to fill out etc......I have no idea who cabelas may be using but can assure you that if its discounted then there is something suspicious. It costs the outfitter around 1500.00 to purchase the coues tag from the landowner. It cost 500.00 to pay the Mexican gov. for a gun permit if you are bringing your own. I think you see the math, the outfitter is left with 2000.00 to feed you, transport you, pay the guides and the rest. The only way for an outfitter to reduce the price is if he pays less for the tags and I will assure you any rancher who sells them below market probably doesnt have a quality ranch because people are lined up at 4000.00 to harvest a good buck from the established ranches. I expect the prices will continue to go up so be careful with any lowball prices.........Call Duwane, call Kirk and since they both have done this for years, get some references and see what the clients say. Another thing, having a bilingual guide is very helpful. Last year I hunted without a guide but with a ranch hand who helped and he spoke zero english. It was very very hard to communicate and if you have never hunted coues, I would caution against it.........hope some of this helps a bit. Send me a note if I can help in any other way....... www.environmentalfiltration@msn.com p.s. I would be happy to give you what info I have on Alaska if you need it.......Allen Taylor.........

    Hey Amanda!!

It's that big non-typical hanging in his front room. I think you saw it, but maybe take a digital camera and take a few pictures of it and see what your friend says at the embroidery shop. if you are at Mt. Lemmon, then just ask him. I will talk with him today or tomorrow but am positive it would not be a problem.............AT.......

    Hey Amanda!!

Amanda: The embroidered t-shirt or hat would be fantastic. Also, Duwane would let you use his 139 buck as a picture...............I will ask him if you want.......Allen.........

    Unit 21

Naturally a burn area is a great food source after the burn and the grass starts coming in. I would say a 14 year old burn would be like a clear cut and still be a prime food source as long as it isnt choked with brush. I havent hunted this unit so I am just throwing out generalities but would think you should glass your butt off on S.E. facing slopes at first light and of course get up high. I would scout the burn area and see what you see then hit it hard if you find deer. Again, glassing is the key..............

    What hunt is more crowded?

Brett, send crazyaboutcoues an email and he will give out his experience. I was going to go over there this year but money/time constraints shut it out for me. Hope you do well.............Allen..........

    Unit 32

The advice on bino's is the most important thing. You really need to get to any high spot if you are in unfamiliar territory, and glass long and in a grid pattern. Get up high before first light and glass, glass. Maybe move after 1/2 hour if you havent seen deer, and set up again and glass for a couple more hours. Unit 27 can piss you off due to the terrain, but the southern units like 32 should allow you to view alot of area if you have 15X bino's.........keep up and dont give up............Allen...........

    35A

KGAINES: three years ago I was drawn for 23 and didnt have anywhere to get reliable info other than the general crap so I used Duwane Adams map service. Basically for 250.00 he copied a forest service map for a couple of good areas he has seen bucks and wrote down access directions. I used the service again last year in a southern unit. I figured I would spend more in gas money searching the unit than what Duwane could provide. It was money very well spent in that I didnt have alot of time to take off work for scouting, so the time I spent scouting was where deer were in the unit. I learned alot from calling him etc... and of course broke down and bought good glass two years ago and have never been sorry I did..............Allen..........

    FIRES

As Brett said, many units have fires. I am really concerned about the whiteriver fire now, it is really close to last year Rodeo-chediski fire and that is a bearutiful area...............allen.........

    Getting excited!

I am going to try and set up a natural ground blind in an area I scouted last year. I have never shot a deer with a bow and I wont be super picky on size but would like a 80" or better. I wont probably see anything but coues, but if a carp came along, I would stick it if it was a mature buck.......Allen........

    B&C vs. David Miller

The whole article is on Monster Muleys general hunting page. You can search for the topic David Miller and you should be able to find it................Allen Taylor................
  21. I dont know how to cut/paste an article here so maybe someone can. B&C made their first ever public position statement regarding why David Miller's coues and other trophies are no longer in their record book. The info is on their website, monstermuleys, huntamerica and a bunch of other web pages. To me it looks like David Miller has some big accusations logged against him that he will have to refute or just walk away...........This is big news.............Allen..................

    FIRES

The fires will be beneficial to the deer herds. It may look bad seeing the burnt up trees, but the brush/undergrowth that has been cleared will allow the grass and forbs to grow for tons of food. I think overall this will be good for the animals..................good luck on the draws..............Allen...........

    Hey Amanda!!

Amanda, it might be pricey but a good tin cloth type low profile baseball cap with a logo on it would be great..........I have a T/C contender hat like what I described and the material is impregnated with oil and it keeps the rain off and lasts a long time............I am up for any of the stuff that has been talked about............Allen.............

    Draw results

Well Crazy at least you can focus more on the business while your kid probably will kill a monster coues and elk........you can at least guide him and take the pictures........LOL........congrats seriously to your boy.
