guys/gals: somehow we all need to get INVOLVED. Whether it is work projects, donating time, fundraising, polictics, whatever. We need to stomp out the APATHY that happens for various reasons. I am volunteering to take emails from anyone who wants to specify the types of activities they would volunteer to be involved in. I can use your email/cell phone contact info and steer you in the right direction. Thanks..............Allen Taylor.................

Guys, the straight answer to this is that politics is just part of the game. It doesnt mean you need to be involved in the "political process" but just recognize that politics within the organizations, politics from outside sources, politics within our state gov. , politics within AZGFD etc....is just a fact of life. Now if politics "kills the desire" then you need to find someone who will pick up the task that so many dont want to do. It is a necessary evil, but just part of the whole process. It is no different than chores you dont want to do around the house, but they have to be done..............Allen Taylor.............

donnie, i agree with you about knowledge of your favorite animal, but the bigger battle we all face is desire. people have to have the desire to get involved, learn, educate themselves and help wildlife. we all need to force ourselves to get involved with the desire to save/enhance our wildlife.....if not for ourselves, but for the animals and the kids.............allen taylor.......

Jeff, is this sold? call me at 602-454-2146......Allen.............

everyone.......time donated is the #1 thing that is needed. the small amount of money your membership dues represents is so small compared to the need for time. please donate some time to any part of wildlife conservation you can........projects, banquets, lobbying, phone calls, recruiting etc.........we have/must change the mindset of hunters and get them involved wherever they can...........allen taylor.....

The new Sportsmens Consituent Group AZGFD is talking about will sure be a step in the right direction. I am hoping the SCG can work with all existing conservation groups and unaffiliated people to bring together the voices/votes/manpower/money that is so crucial. I know there are so many facets to this whole picture: Economic, political, on the ground projects, meetings, fundraisers etc.........if each person can serve where he/she best fits (and it fits with your family's needs), then we can cover as many bases as possible for wildlife and not burn out people like the current way we do things has. Hopefully everyone can voice an opinion, feel free to share not only opinions, but answers.................Allen Taylor..........

How many groups have signed onto this letter? Has AAF, ADA, ADBSS, etc..????? I am curious because after the infighting etc.... I wonder where all the AZ orgs are at, have they at least banded together on this issue? This sure would be an easy step for some to make. Allen............. -

Commission meeting 4-14
coueshunter replied to ThomC's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Donnie, the biggest concern I have, and it has always been around is apathy. I am going to be in the sportsman constituent group and on 1 or more boards, but I am wondering how many hunters/outdoorsman will stay engaged after 2072. I hope the websites can be a place to spur on involvement......keep issues in front of people.....I hold hope for that.......I know when I was on Ada board a few years back, getting people involved was the hardest issue............volunteering your time for projects, meetings or banquets/fundraisers is where it is at......allen -
raghorn...a few years back I bought one online....no sales tax and picked it up at haulmark in phoenix......I got a 6 x 12. and love the extra room......may be an option for you

Non-typical, thanks for engaging into AZ wildlife. I am still unclear on many many issues, but to help out, we need to start somewhere. Thanks for not taking Don's jab personally. You are welcome here and in the effort to maintain/enhance AZ wildlife.........Allen Taylor.......... -

Non-Typical, this is a real situation. Not a "scare tactic". I have spoken to quite a few people about this. Allen.................. -

I just spoke with Miles Moretti of the Mule Deer Foundation. He is working on this along with Melissa Simpson of SCI. We really need to call/email/write letters to our Govenor Brewer. Grass roots efforts from local voters will really help. Get ahold of the Govenors office immediately............Thanks.........Allen Taylor............. -

Just spoke with Melissa Simpson---Safari Club Director of the Wash. D.C. office. She is on top of this and is going to talk with Larry Voyles from AZGFD. Melissa has a copy of the proposal and was a pleasure to deal with on the phone. She is going to see where we need to go from here, whether a letter campaign or what. She is going to get back in touch with me on this..........Allen Taylor............ -

Everyone, this is a real deal. We need to put tons of effort into raising our voices with the appropriate people in WA D.C. Maybe Don or another political savy person can give us a link to who our voices need to go to most. This isnt any diversion, its the real deal.............Don or someone, can you clarify who we should shout to the loudest???? Thanks..........Allen Taylor.......P.S. I have sent John McCain my feelings in a letter already........... -
