What is the big secret anyways. You don't know?

Make that 2 votes for idiots. You should have seen my golden going bonkers when the hogs were chasing the dogs. I haven't seen her that worked up in a long time. I though she was going to jump into my computer.

Maybe he's in a northern unit?

Cool pics. I need to find some of those little rodents for my rifle hunt in Feb.They're one hill over

Some people make this way too complicated. Take your gun, your sleeping bag, some food, a way to get water, and a first aid kit. Leave the stoves, and pots, and fancy pants, and radios and all that stuff.that wasn't invented 50 years ago. The wilderness will provide you a lot more than you think. I'm surprised some people aren't listing TV's and microwaves.

Yes, all is well, hope the same with you. You wern't kidding about the hunt opps on post. Makes me want to reenlist

Nice one. Kinda makes you forget about your elk hunt I'll bet.

There can be, but the silver lining in that, is the deer get used to seeing humans, as I'm sure you noticed.

If the apples are falling, you can't step foot in the orchard without stepping in or ovr scat. saw 4 bears in one day. Had one come in to our camp at 0 dark thirty, woke up to gunshots being fired.

Don't have anything to say, just wanted to be the only one to post here

I would like to join you. Would like to take you into my spot in 24b, but would also enjoy seeing new areas.

I pack similar to you, but decided to go with pills instead of a filter, and I am lucky to go to a place where the deer are within 100yds, so no need for a scope or tripod, which saves a good bit of weight, as does a small set of 8X binos. I also take light weight food, but hunt an apple orchard, which saves having to bring a ton of food, but can require extra mountain money

Wise post matt. 2 gallons is more than I carry at 8lbs per gallon. I'm fortunate to have a spring fed creek where I go though.

Eagle Eye, if you're going where I think you're going, do yourself a favor, and go in from the north. Trust me on this one.

If you're near Gold canyon, try down the Peralta road. There are a few washes where they can be found.

I was out deer hunting yesterday in a spot that usually has a ton of pigs, and saw none, or no sign. I wonder if all the rain has them sitting tight to core areas? Also a ton of forbs and grasses growing everywhere. Sure is a neat time to be in the desert. Crossing Queen creek with 20" of water and 14" boots wasn't much fun. I'll remember to bring some sneakers with me next time.

If you want, I do a hunt not far from the valley in Oct and pack in about 6 miles.. there are a ton of WT and I saw one last year that if he didn't go 120" I'd be amazed. There's also a ton of bears, so having someone to watch my back would be nice.

I have been with Verizon for over 10 years and have had pretty good luck with the exception of the border zone (southern az) where my buddy's Alltell seems to work better. In Northern Az- Verizon seems to work great and they are constantly expanding and updating their network "can you hear me now?"
I did buy the Casio G z One phone which is waterproof - First of it's kind and shock proof, dust resistant etc. So, If you backpacking or hunting , this phone is more rugged than some of the garbage they sell to consumers.

Good Luck,

T he camera on those phones is pretty good isn't it?

I hunt that unit every year for pigs. Where have you been trying?

If you're in Mesa, and don't mind walking, you're about 1 hr from some really good wt spots. let me know if you're still interested.

Bull can be tough. I've wanted a 22 ML tag, but draw odds are like 10%. I know a guy who drew that tag the last 2 years. Must be nice

The only thing that bothers me is taxpayers are paying for roads. There may be good reason for that, perhaps revenue generated from taxes on the logging companies. I like how they say there will be only fields of stumps left. They obviously have no idea how logging companies make sure the land is clean and replanted with new sapplings before they leave. They may also be taking out the large, older trees only, so the younger stuff will grow. Just trying to add other views to it. That's a pretty leftist website. And if they say that "global warming" is going to destroy those trees anyway, why protect them?
