Looking to buy a Diesel and would like your opinion
cosninocanines replied to 2 Full Curls's topic in The Campfire
The Ford 6.7 (I have a 2011) is awesome, I had the Ford 7.2 which was great but the 6 speed manual finally got to my knees when I was in traffic. The 7.2 handled everything I put behind it 15,000 lb fifth wheel only had to go to 5th on long high elevation pulls and really rare occasions 4th but still 50 mph. The 6.7 auto with 12,000 lb fifth wheel and 3000 lb jeep behind that has pulled every grade I have tried at posted speeds and my old knees are loving it. -
Congrats! Nice Bird, for me it's 3 days and a wake up, unit 8.

Good Bull? One with a small hole through it's heart laying next to a useable road -
Our thoughts and prayers for everybody affected by this tragedy. Boston Globe reports that the entire route is in fact swept for bombs the morning of the race but this is an evolving event with people coming and going all day and no "entering gate" to process all participants and fans. Let's hope that with all the surveillance cameras (banks, hotels, apartments etc.) authorities will be able to establish a suspects list.

Keep in mind the west boundary is the Oak Creek Highway not I-17.

Weather will be your key. Stay close to FS231 (Woody Mtn road) the spot Adicted pointed out is good, you can check out the cinder pit rd in section 25. For the absolute safest spot the city wells near the arboretium but that will give you a lot of drive time when you go out to hunt.

What would Jack do? To go plastic or to not go plastic......
cosninocanines replied to biglakejake's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I was a huge O'Conner fan in my youth and I think Jack would have checked out and tested the stocks but IMO he would have shot what he owned which was most likely solid walnut. X2 -
5BN Not asking for hand outs just have a few questions???
cosninocanines replied to 3Coues3's topic in Elk Hunting
Be sure and check road status, 5B is set up as no off road recovery of elk, and you will need to know where you can go and not go. Here is a link to some road maps I placed in another topic scroll down to 5B. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/32658-coconino-forest-travel-management-plan/ They may have better maps now but the original maps the fs handed out were worthless. Good Luck in your scouting and on the hunt. -

Think Rim! Anderson mesa holds a lot of good elk herds water will be key if it's a dry summer and the "burn" has elk all night long you just have to catch them coming or going. The "burn" look at your topo map and find Yellow Jacket Canyon scout the rim top and bottom from the power line to the canyon. Good Luck tough (but fun) hunt. -
It worked once Stuttering Cat - as explained by a Grade 4 student A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. "Human beings are the only animals that stutter," she says. A little girl raises her hand. "I had a kitty-cat who stuttered". The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, asked the girl to describe the incident. "Well," she began, "I was in the back yard with my kitty and the Rottweiler that lives next door got a running start and before we knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard!" "That must've been scary," said the teacher. "It sure was," said the little girl."My kitty raised her back, went 'Ffffff!, Ffffff!, Fffffff,' but before she could say '#@%!!,' the Rottweiler ate her!" The teacher had to leave the room.

It wasn't that long ago when 2 brothers hunting elk in N Az had a similar tragedy. One stepped in front of the other as they were shooting at some running elk. This unfortunate incident involving a 12 year old and his father is simply unfathomable. Were they doing it right NO but you know it was a family enjoying each other and .... My Prayers are with them tonight!

In My Opinion Participating in a "Government" gun buy back because you believe that criminals have too many guns, is like having yourself castrated because you believe that the neighbors have too many kids!
