Which rifle for a youth hunter?
cosninocanines replied to SteveKDC's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Agreed, very hard to "Un-teach" the flinch or anticipation. This will be their gun so .243 or similar (ownership can be for a lifetime) if they draw an elk tag somebody will have a gun they can use. When their older they can expand their "collection". I purchased a 7MM Mag when I was about 30 and shoot it at everything using different weight bullets. -
I got all fired up when I got a missed call fro "AZGF results" on Wednesday (2/27) so I called the number and low and behold I had been drawn! For Javaina which I was hunting at the time and Spring Turkey the tag is in my phone drawer at home

Very cool get this to a taxadermitist ASAP they can cape it out and then you can decide, sell the fur, cape it or mount. Freezer is good but lots' of problems if you let it sit.

Been trying to find out on GF when does trapping season end? Ran into a few trappers and they were close to actualy making money so hope they do.

SUPER Thanks for the write up, Roger and I can not find any pigs in 22. But then we specialize in Fire Wood and we have seen plenty. NOW we know why some locals, MAIN PEOPLE, from the area go south.

Ideal spotting scope for couse deer hunting?
cosninocanines replied to McDaniel's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
I have 15x48' scope and wish I had more power. That said I agree a quality pair of binos 15x on a tripod are the best way to go especially when your going to glass for awhile from one spot. I use 10x binos to find something then the scope to verify all weight to carry when afield. -

Rocks that move Keep at it if your finding deer you will soon find the pigs not that they hang out together just that your skills are finding other things.

A gift from "Daddyclaus"
cosninocanines replied to kaibabkiller's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
X2 a great move by the Commission and even better move by You to put the tag in his hands. I don't doubt for a second that you had a little bit of that anticipation going on as well. Thanks for sharing -
Size of Stud and Mom? Small (40 lbs), Medium (60 lbs or large (90 lbs). Wondering if she will be big.
