I'll be going through that country this afternoon and will post a snow report this evening or early tomorrow. Top side of Stonemean Lake might be good and I will check out Diversion Park. County has a maintenance barn there so they plow that road and if you can squezze in could be a good spot. Nobody mans the camp they just park their grader there so it should be quiet unless it starts snowing.

My Father brought this gun back from WW2 and I'm trying to determine exactly what it is and possibly worth. Side marking P.BERETTA-CAL 7.65-BREVETTATA GARDONE VT 1944 There are 2 marks below the hammer but I can't make out what they are. I've looked online and found a little info but none seem to be this gun. The BREVETTATA is what throws me. I'm just hoping one of our members has some knowledge on this. A second gun also a Beretta is marked PISTOLA AUT BERETTA-6.35 BREV 1919 Thanks, Mike

Thank You -
Stoneman Lake road is the only open road finding a place to pull off could be a problem. The rain we had last month melted most of the snow pack but the last few storms have helped the snow pack build back up. All in all though theres not much snow out there.

In an episode of "Cheers," Cliff Clavin, the trivia-spouting, quirky, irksome mama's boy mailman is seated at the bar describing the buffalo theory to his buddy, Norm Peterson, the beer loving heavyweight bar stool sitting perpetual patron. Cliff expounds his "Buffalo Theory" to Norm: “Well, you see, Norm, it’s like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it’s the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.”

First I walk off the post game blues this morning in the 3 Bar Wildlife, then it's Guyaos for some super Mexican food to burn off the last nights brewskies, then a little more walking up Reno creek and finally one more ice cold favorite at Butcher Hook to bite the snake.

Thank You for providing the link to Mr. Penders letter a very to the point statement of his observations. I will follow up on his letter with one of my own to AZG&F and the Navajo Tribe and suggest as many as possible do the same. We can be heard but only if we speak up, just look at what the silence on the Travel management mess on our national forests brought us. -
Time well spent Thank You for sharing. We will be making a rv trip to Alaska this summer and our route takes us right through this amazing land.

It's going to take me some time to work through this I just purchased the Leica 1600B rangefinder which has a ballistics program and bullet compensation built in. I was under the impression the hold over would be different shooting uphill vs downhill, is that the case? Thank You for this post I have an awfull lot of learning ahead of me. -

Proposed Access Agreement on Boquillas Ranch
cosninocanines replied to Don Martin's topic in Elk Hunting
Copy of my reply in the javelina forum to this topic. Unfortunatly this does have the possibility of snowballing, could be Unit 5b and the Hopi ranches before long. Wildlife management will really be strained and the hunting pressure adjacent to these areas will increase. The wildlife will respond by crossing the fence as they do on the Navajo Depot and Grand Canyon National Park. I appreciate the folks at G&F working on these issues and hope that a balance can be found. We all should follow the example set by the Mohave Sportsmen and donate our time in some usefull way to help the ranchers. I worked on the Boquillas clean-up last year after driving miles and miles our little group picked up very little trash because there was very little trash to pick up. We covered a lot of country during the archery antelope hunt and again little or no trash to be found. -
