Just spent 4 days out in the hills looking for the gray ghost. Cole got a shot, Wyatt got to see a 2 point and 2 spikes. Garrett glassed up a lion. Max and his dad glassing. We struck out in the deer hunting department but we sure hit a home run in the family time. Great time in the outdoors. Spent some time with the grandkids. Life is good.

The Hunt
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Just turned 4, we had to play games with him to keep him interested. Max, do you see that bear? Where grandpa? That black one over there... Grandpa, that is a black log. Needless to say, finding a deer was second on the list of priorities. -
So we glassed up a lion on Sunday morning. It was about 1/4 mile away and we didn't get to watch it for long cause it disappeared despite efforts to try and keep track of it. I usually have a lion tag but did not bad mistake. I get a tag on Monday went out and spent Tuesday morning calling that area. What really are the chances that cat was around in the area still??? Just curious, I figured it was worth a shot.

My son Wyatt's pack frame flew out of the back of his truck somewhere between Alpine and 10 miles west of Round Valley yesterday. Wind was horizontal and when he noticed it was missing he went back as far as Round Valley with no luck. Green in color, would really like to get it back if somebody came across it. I am pretty sure of the make as best we can remember, I have 2 other frames just like it so it would be odd for it to be different. Appreciate it if somebody lucked across it. Thanks, Jeff

My little brother decided to play a prank on my boys today with this text: Hey Wyatt, how are you? Not sure if you have heard but Unit 27 has just been closed. They have a felon loose out in the woods and a big manhunt on for him. Guess they are worried about a lot of hunters being out there so they shut it down for now. Not sure if your dad knows but I will keep you posted. Immediately Wyatt gives me a call to find out if it was true.......fortunately for me my brother had contacted me ahead of time to give me warning he was spoofing the boys. Haven't heard from Garrett yet..........he will mess his pants.

I have a Freezer Sears Kenmore upright....probably 10 years old maybe 12. It gets covered with that white frost ice up on the top coils and the first shelf coils about every two months and quits freezing. Any hints on what I can do to keep that from happening? New freezer time?

Decided to drag this one back up after a week of pounding on Cole to get his grades up. He has a couple of C's.......that needed to be B's We took the keys away first and then hung his deer hunt in front of him as well. No missing school if the grades didn't come up. Just as the buzzer was going off he got his grades up so he bought him some time out of school to go hunting with us. I sure am glad he got his crud together cause I wanted to miss school too..............

Retiree Health Message
Non-Typical Solutions posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
RETIREE HEALTH MESSAGE As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don't really give a dang. It's the tortoise life for me! 1.. If walking is good for your health, the mailman would be immortal. 2.. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat. 3.. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years. 4.. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years. And you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so I'm retired. Go around me. God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference. Now that I'm older here's what I've discovered: 1. I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it. 2. My wild oats have turned into prunes and all-bran. 3. I finally got my head together, and now my body is falling apart. 4. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded. 5. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded. 6. If all is not lost, where is it? 7. It is easier to get older than it is to get wiser. 8. Some days, you're the dog; some days you're the hydrant. 9. I wish the buck stopped here; I sure could use a few. 10. Kids in the back seat cause accidents. 11. Accidents in the back seat cause kids. 12. It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere. 13. The only time the world beats a path to your door is when you're in the bathroom. 14. If God wanted me to touch my toes, he'd have put them on my knees. 15. When I'm finally holding all the cards, why does everyone want to play chess? 16. Its not hard to meet expenses . . . they're everywhere. 17. The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth. 18. These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter . . .I go somewhere to get something, and then wonder what I'm hereafter 19. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded. 20. DID I SEND THESE TO YOU BEFORE..........?????? -

Leftist Mindshaping Works - These are the People "Educating" Your Children
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Healy Arms's topic in The Campfire
Don't belong to any union....................I remember my father in law.....when I was young married to his daughter and we both had chosen the teaching profession. Quote, "Those who can do, those who can't teach school." I would have loved to seen him handle a classroom and put up with the bureaucratic mess our educational system has become. First worst step they ever took in education is when they took the two P's out of the classroom..................Prayer and Paddle................ -
Leftist Mindshaping Works - These are the People "Educating" Your Children
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Healy Arms's topic in The Campfire
Thanks Pine Donkey.......there are some really great educators out there not all of them are nut wacko jobs. Education is a pretty sketchy line of business to be in these days, more so than ever. As with any profession, I challenge anybody out there to put the shoes on and try walking in them a while. Kudos to you parents who stay engaged in the events of your children because you really are the glue to our society. If you leave education to someone else then you are going to get what you get. Go spend a morning at the bus drop off and see what the $8.00 an hour teachers aide on morning bus duty has to put up with. Go spend a lunch hour in the cafeteria running herd on a bunch of Jr. High students. Coach a school football team and get ready for the phone to start ringing at all hours of the day because Johnny didn't get play time. Worse yet......spend a day trying to collect homework in math from unmotivated teenagers. The list can go on and on........... No doubt as is clear in the incident about there are some pretty messed up things that happen at school...............well, off to work......teaching a bunch of great Jr. High kids the love that I have of working with wood.....I am lucky.
