Oooops.....except crossing the border has nothing to do with ethics, that is just flat out illegal.....my bad.....

We were hunting rifle elk at the tree farms on Zeniff (bad idea) opening morning not realizing what a zoo experience that was going to be. We had spent plenty of time there glassing preseason, early morning and thought we had a pretty good plan. Course we were exactly where we wanted to be opening morning along with about 15 other hunters waiting to decend upon the elk coming up out of the basin there. Time for plan B, we glassed up some elk that seemed to have slipped through the masses and we were getting out of our truck to go on foot and try to edge over a slow slopping ridge when another truck pulled up along side of us. They asked us if we had seen anything and we told them we were getting ready to stalk up on some bulls below us. Stupid us of course, telling them exactly what we were doing right??? They turn their truck off road, go barreling down the slope offroad right in the direction we told them we were planning on heading. The first thing that crosses through my mind is putting my crosshairs on the tailgate of that truck and letting the lead fly. We took down the plate number off the truck so we could call it in. All the sudden we see a G$F truck barreling off the hill, guess we weren't alone out there . Those boys got pulled over and hopefully a little fine to go with it. I think it is best to take down details, report them and let the law enforcement agencies take care of it. I know we maybe are not always happy when the law doesn't follow through the way we think they should but still for all involved it is the safest measure to take. Ethics are as broad as the universe no matter if it is hunting, living off wellfare, crossing the border illegally or selling a used car.

Sheds are such a fun bonus to getting out in the sticks...nice job....

My son just did a report for one of his classes (8th grade) on the Game and Fish and Ethics of all subjects......the main gist of his report was the G$F was only successful due to the Ethical efforts of the hunters and those who use the system. There are many things that rub my hair wrong and those of you who know me that is pretty tough. But follow the laws that are in the books, be respectful of others and follow the good book from up above and you will probably be headed in the right direction.

I was texting the other day, which I am not to good at and I texted in the word "right"......and I accidently pushed that one key that changes the word, which is not what I wanted to do, so I hit the key again and guess what word comes up.....you texters probably already know this but the word "shiit" comes up.....WOW......it does really happen.

That is awesome....if you don't mind what unit???

The spooking of game has been a pretty common practice in Unit 10 for years, we were hunting some bulls up close to the rez line, archery, had some nut keeping the bulls from coming across the fence to water on the Unit 10 side. That is pretty frustrating, I love unit 10 and sure enough hate to see junk going on out there....you really gotta wonder what fun it is to cut the head off of a bull that you didn't actually hunt.....wow what a thrill....must be an adrenaline rush......

All just sound like a bunch of Bull to me!!! Cardinals and the Raiders both lost today.....

Mexico is planning to release five wolves near AZ
Non-Typical Solutions replied to jcarter's topic in The Campfire
Refer to the thread that OutdoorWriter posted on this site called Cry Wolf.......and get prepared for what is already in place and rolling in our back yard... -
That is good news. One of our lockdowns, a kid that was in welding class had two pieces of rebar sticking out his backpack, looked like a rifle to a passerby who called it in saying there was a student on campus with a rifle in their backpack.

AP) TUCSON, Ariz. — An Air Force Base near Tucson has stepped up security and limited traffic into and out of the base because of an unspecified security situation. A Davis-Monthan Air Force Base spokesperson could not confirm reports of gunfire on the base or say if anyone has been shot. Senior Airman Timothy Dunaway says traffic has been reduced to a single point entry but he refused to elaborate. He says the Sonoran Science Academy on the base is on lockdown. KVOA-TV says the kids are safe on the base. Davis-Monthan is adjacent to the Pima Air & Space Museum and the "boneyard" for old military and government airplanes that is a popular destination for aviation enthusiasts.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN SHEEP ON BLACK RIVER

That is not good news for sure, that has become one of our favorite ventures a chance to get to see those sheep in there. -
Tony, Thanks for posting the video, interesting for sure, kinda sheds a light on the topic that we all suspected I suppose. I like the part where the guy talks about how many elk a wolf will take and how many wolves currently reside in the yellowstone and surronding areas. Lots of truth spoken in that video.

Spray Painted Game Cameras

Great pictures of a bunch of tadpole elk Sorry about the vandalism to your cam, that really stinks. We have had a couple out now for about a week and praying the bears haven't destroyed them nor humans messed with them. -
The lady had no legit response. She was dumbfounded. He should have asked her to show him in the Constitution where the Gov't has the power to tell you what kind of dumper or light bulb or dishwasher you have in your house. So either she has to flush multiple times as well or paid out the backside for the ultra model with jetstream Melofahess for sure....

That was an awesome clip DB and now I know that I am not the only idiot that can't get my water saving toilet to take care of business.......he really put some good thought into that little speech he gave and he didn't mince words about it at all......great clip....

Haven't read Silent Spring, so which generation exactly does Ms. Carson claim is the most polluting. Spare me the read??? I remember reading about Jane Fonda taking a shower with a water saver and a 5 gallon bucket in there to catch the extra to flush the toilet with. We used to use the water from the washing machine(Gray water) to water our garden but that is too toxic for the environment so they shut that down. One more green for ya, go check out the 500,000 acre black spot up on the mountain, a direct result of people trying to save the planet from our polluting ways......and don't forget, everybodys poop goes somewhere

So we decided to go check out an area that we enjoy, did some hiking and taking pictures. We set up camp about noon just before it rained. Waited out the rain and went hiking. Had just a great time, found a couple of sheds, nothing great but hey, a shed is a shed right. Got back to camp, we were wet, building a fire getting ready for supper and all the sudden Cole finds this guy coiled up about 5 feet from our food stash. WOW, our dog Daisy didn't even stir this guy up, he was cold. Just the same, not fun finding a rattler in camp. Bad picture, but he is in there. Spent the next day hiking around looking for sign and possible hunting ideas. Rained on us again that evening then all night long drizzle. Absolutely beautiful out there. Breaking camp the next morning and this critter decides to pay us a visit. My wife spotted the bear first and put us all on high alert. Again, Daisy failed us with no warning but maybe that was a blessing in disguise. The bear was about 50 yards from camp, seemed as curious as we were as it just strolled on by. What a beautiful animal, glad we were able to view the bear with no incidents, we were prepared but what a breath taking adventure. I really do enjoy getting out and seeing what our forests have to offer, would prefer to not see the rattlesnakes, but the bear, turkey and deer, man it makes it hard to go back to work the next day.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN SHEEP ON BLACK RIVER
Non-Typical Solutions replied to billrquimby's topic in The Campfire
Bill, Isn't that road into Diamond Rock still closed?? I am not sure, will be able to check that out latter part of October. There is a batch of sheep that hang out up on the rocky flats there just south of Buffalo crossing as well. Right there at the turnoff into Sprucedale and on around that big bend in the rocky flats.
