I load up a 55 gallon barrel of feed from Hatch Dairy.......mix a bag of crumble in with it as I go......chickens slow down in the winter and pick back up. I think one of my replacement hens was holding out on me cause for a bit all my eggs were green and I knew I shoulda had some brown ones then just last week all the sudden she decided to start layin.......

I got hit real hard right before covid by coyotes.........decided I wasn't going to do chickens anymore and then covid hit and I decided I was gonna get back into a few laying hens.....I hatch about 30 chicks every year.....give most of them away and keep a few for replacement...........and I made my coop coyote proof.......

I have chickens just to make sure I have a couple of eggs, not a money project just a hobby..............so in the past I have just given eggs to neighbors, family etc.......I don't have a lot of laying hens so it isn't like mass production at all. A dozen - 18 eggs a week. One of my neighbors insisted on paying me $4 for the last dozen I took to her because she felt guilty about what she has to pay at the grocery store we live in batsh$t crazy times for sure!!!!!

Got new plates, can’t help but wonder if I should send them back! Could cause a lot of triggering to occur!!! 😂

One more good one would be great and two would be icing on the cake......warning to travelers up that way.....the pot holes close to Heber are unforgivingly deep, caution as you drive that stretch between the rim and Heber as it is not tire friendly......

I mean for me it was an automatic Dead On Arrival but that's just me..................
