Do I get to brag??? Gun was built by Willie, he put it together for his little brother who happens to be bigger than all of us. Lil'Y is graduating from high school this year and we decided to build him a gun that would fit his arms and his big mellon. We could never figure out why he had such a hard time finding things in a scope until we did the "duh", he is bigger than the rest of us, full head bigger. Anyway, Willie did a nice job on it, we shot it a couple of weekends ago and had a blast shooting Lil'Y's gun without him being around. We built several loads and found one of the powders 4831 seemed to group a little better than the others. Nice looking gun Willie....course.....I am biased.....Lil'Y is going to put a bunch of scratches on that gun, you and I both know that, but he is going to be one proud kid to have a gun built by big brother........can't wait to help him put something down with that gun. Which only means that we better go shoot it a few more times just to make sure it is on

I'm pretty sure they will figure out how man was somehow responsible for the unexpected blow...........I mean, it had to be man caused if the last time something like this happened was over 9000 years ago...... But this line is the best one of all that OwlGore might want to take note of, "What happens after today is anybody's guess," Stern said. Hope they didn't spend alot of money trying to figure that out.........

Up until last Christmas I owned three guns. A Marlin .22 that I won selling magazines in FFA way back when. A Remington Model 700 BDL 22-250 that I bought with pig money when I turned 16, shot probably 6 mule deer with it until my wife bought me a Ruger .270 which has taken care of all my deer and elk needs since then. I wouldn't recommend the 22-250 as a deer gun, but it can sure enough kill them, if you are buying a 22-250 it is because you want a fast shooting varmint gun that if in a pinch you can kill a deer with. Biggest deer I ever killed was with my 22-250, a mulie up in unit 10, cross canyon, 60 grain hornady spirepoint........I love that gun...... Last Christmas.....added the Remington .17 to my small but efficient arsenal...........

Being from the White mountains, and due to an error in my deer applications last year when we ended up in 36B, which we enjoyed the hunt. But I honestly was very unaware of the conditions and circumstances going on along our Arizona border. It is an unfortunate situation, but kind of like my own kids, if I give them a mile of rope they take two or three and I am afraid that we have given and given and now it is time to start reeling it back in, and I mean hard. When we have our own state reps. who are not willing to stand up for the USA, it is time to get them out of office. That whole article made me sick to my stomach to think that we have allowed this to happen. I made a DVD of the photos I took down in 36B and mailed off copies to 5 TV stations, Sen. John McCain and Janet Nepalitano......this was clear back in December.....I got a little post card from Nepalitano thanking me for my concerns..............I don't know...it was good to see somebody getting some public recognition with the Tucson Weekly.......... And I tend to agree strongly with TLH's approach...............

Was down in Tucson over the weekend and had to make a stop at Eegees to cool off. I noticed a familiar picture on the front of a free newspaper on the stand there. It is the picture that has frequented this site of illegals packing "contraband" on their backs. Included in the newspaper is a lengthy article about the proposal of additional wilderness area down south along the mexico border. Sounds like something we should show some concern for, but not being from Tucson I guess I really don't know if the Tucson Weekly is a credible source of information. I can't imagine that a wilderness area along the border is going to help matters at all, at least in my simple mind it just complicates matters. Plus....what about Rep. Grijalva, is he a Rep for the state of Arizona or Mexico???? Hard to tell for sure....................... I planted some trees on my property about two weeks ago, it was like scooping ice cream, the ground underneath is real damp and looks good around these parts as far as moisture......I know though, up in Unit 10, in the past you could drive across the pipeline road way out there and see exactly where the moisture was....or wasn't......give it a little more time and you will be able to tell how things are gonna be up there.

Been watching alot of the news with Joe and Illegals. Last night alot of people voicing their concern that people were afraid to come out and go to church, eat out or social events because of Sheriff Joe and his roundups. Am I missing something here.....people are afraid?? Why?? Is it because they don't have the proper documentation to be in this country? They are criminals with a record?? I don't get it....... So now, Joe has to give 48 hours notice that he is doing a roundup.........I still don't get it.......somebody help me out here that is maybe closer to the situation and has a better idea of what the heck is going on.

The good book says the earth will be cleansed by fire in the last days.........I know where Show Low would be right now if it weren't for some tough fighters who were up here in the Rodeo/Chediski days........ We were practicing summer baseball here in Snowflake, catching full sized burnt leaves as they trickled from the black sky.........traveling miles from here....I can't even imagine how hot that fire was on the front line...... This one here is going to show just how ignorant I am.........how did the wolly mammoth get trapped in the deep ice way up North??? And the Iceage man....how did he get trapped up there???? Is it possible that there didn't used to be ice up there once upon a time??????? So, my guess is........ if we were to reverse the situation and all of the sudden Ice was starting to appear way up north where people were living and it was scaring the crap out of everybody because pollution and the green thing was causing everything to freeze up and wolly mammoths were dieing because of the global cooling thing..........wait.......did we have global cooling way back then?? And what caused it???? I hate to tell you boys this but there is alot of crap that happened to this earth long before we every invented fire and the round wheel.....say what you want but we have very little control over big picture......nature will take its course, maybe with all the gloom and doom we better pay a little more attention to the good word........and if you think that Rodeo/Chediski fire was hot....wait for the big one... When my wife and I were teaching school in Ash Fork we would have days where all of the sudden the halls were full of parents collecting children because the Megre(sp) were coming to make a sweep. We had alot of illegals there working the stone quarries. The families that were there were good families and hard workers, but illegal just the same. One night at a high school basketball game we had a pepper spray bomb, heck I don't know what it was, anyway, it went off and we had to evacuate the building, call 911 because we had people who couldn't breath. It was a mess. My oldest boy who was 10 years old at the time, happened to see the kid who set it off and gave the police a description. It was a kid who was attending school there, illegal. We were told he got deported back to Mexico. But, he was back on the streets of town less than two weeks later. Up here in the White Mountains they have been running articles in the paper about families being split up because some are stuck here in the USA and some of them have had to go home to Mexico due to the new immigration laws. I feel for the families, but illegal is illegal. I feel bad for people who are hooked on crack and stealing my stuff to support their habit, but it is still against the law. I take my hat off to Joe and the work he is doing, wish we had more like him and BASS, you as well. If you are out there in the trenches, have mercy on you and you don't get enough for the work you do. Wish I knew what I could do to help you guys out.......... and......AYE on slapping the mayor if Phoenix..............I know I am crossing the PC lines....but isn't he proclaimed gay as well????? This picture is seriously messed folks, time to start getting things straightened out......

I thought we did pretty good discussion eatin places......I'll let you know how it goes.....I'll leave it up to the birthday boy to decide, I think he wants to go to Chilis and I won't let him choose Petes......he just turned 18 and that ain't gonna happen on my watch..... Funny thing is we have been back and forth to the valley last few weeks, my 10 year old happen to be awake one late night as we passed the very bright TOPLESS CABARET sign there on the right hand side at Bushnell Tanks.....which led to an extensive conversation......while mom was sleeping......oh boy, the joys of raising kids...... Somewhere around 7:00........and you are dang sure welcome to join us...we'll be making alot of noise laughing and having a good time no matter where we land, but I'll put my money on Chillis......

Here is another one I am sure you have heard..... Cattle Guards For those of you who have never traveled to the great West or Southwest, cattle guards are horizontal steel rails placed at fence openings, in dug-out places in the roads adjacent to highways (sometimes across highways), to prevent cattle from crossing. For some reason the bovines will not step on the guards, probably because they fear getting their feet caught between the rails. I need to make that clear in order for everyone to appreciate the following TRUE story. While in office, President Clinton received a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado. Because Colorado ranchers protested his proposed changes in grazing policies, he ordered Secretary of Interior Bruce Babbitt to fire half of the guards immediately. Before Babbitt could respond, and presumably straighten him out, Colorado's Congress-woman Pat Schroeder intervened with a request that before any were fired, they be given six months of retraining. (and we PAY these people)
