HEY I JUST BOUGHT ONE 1 MONTH BEFORE MY NOVEMBER DEER HUNT. I TOOK OFF THE STOCK SCOPE AND PUT ON A NIKON BUCKMASTERS 4.5-14 X 40. THE SCOPE THAT COME ON THE GUN IS OKAY BUT I HAD ALREADY HAD THAT ONE SO I USED IT. LET ME TELL YOU THAT IS ONE GREAT GUN FOR THE MONEY. OUT OF THE BOX JUST WENT AND SHOT IT AT 100 YARDS AND THAT SUCKER WAS ONLY 2 INCHES TO THE RIGHT OF WHERE I WAS AIMMING. GET THE GUN YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. CLAY -

Yah but back to your answer of ranging the shot and you wouln't take it over 400 yards bushnell one that i have is perfect for anything under that. And to you saying you hunt alot and want to spend money man I have spent over 8000.00 dollars alone this year on binos, gun, and bowtech bow so I understand what you can afford to buy for quality. And for hunting I even go out after work I hunt and scout everything from elk, deer, varmint, bear, and even small game. Like I said I didn't want this to get out of control. Red rabbit I do understand for how you would range for stalking but isn't the sight out of a range finder as they say "AS THE CROW FLYS" so how does that tell you all you need to know. If I see game at 1000 yards I start a stalk untill I get with in my shooting capabilities. Like I said I was just wandering and everyone has their own opinions. clay

Ameristep Doghouse Blind
willhunt4coues replied to coocoo4coues's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Hang in there they are a pain in the a$$. Sorry to laugh but I have one too and the best thing to do is bend it over and twist. ( Keep your mind out of the gutter ). Try it just like your windshield covers. good luck you will get it though. Pay attention to what you are doing so when it does collapse you can remember how to do it again. clay -
Million dollar whitetail
willhunt4coues replied to billrquimby's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
That to me isn't even considered hunting . I belive hunting is just what it sounds like hard work of trying to find a deer or other game. That is why I love the coues in Arizona free spirited animals and a he@# of a deer to hunt. Clay -
I'm not trying to cause problems but why would you want a range finder that goes up to 1000 yards? My range finder only goes to 500 on a tree. Yah it will probably go to 800 on something reflective but if you saw a deer at 1000 yards that is one heck of a shot because you have to figure in windage bullet drop and every thing else. By the time your done figuring the deer would probably be gone. Here's my point I spent 129.00 on a busnell that ranges just fine for a gun shot. So why would you want to comprimise your money on something you can't even touch with a bullet? Does not apply on binos of course you need good binos so you can see what or how big the game is. So what is the point of 500.00 to 1000.00 dollar range finders? help me understand why. Clay

Man that is disappointing. I know you were after one but is that the same one you were after? Come by the shop and I have a doe in distress audio tape that maybe you can call that sucker in to kill him . Or if you like you can take me there and i will get rid of him myself. .

Help me name my new dog!
willhunt4coues replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I think since she likes to run and is quiet then RUSH would be cool "RUN & SHHH". If that sounds more like a males name then "RUSHES." Okay here it is one more "SHYREE" because she is SHY and likes to play WEEEE. clay -

willhunt4coues replied to Ryan&Amy's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
SEE RYAN IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU HAVE ONLY KILLED ONE OR 50 DEER. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW BIG THE DEER WAS OR WASN'T. IT JUST MATTERS THAT YOU GET OUT AND ENJOY THE OUT DOORS WITH SOMEONE YOU LOVE OR JUST A GOOD FRIEND. THAT IS ONE GREAT LOOKING BUCK THAT YOUR WIFE KILLED AND YES THERE WILL BE MORE FOR YOU AND HER. IT'S GOOD TO FINALLY TALK TO YOU AGAIN IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME. LATER BUD. CLAY -
nice buck Rick I'm glad you didn't hunt my picture area since you knew where it was. clay

HERE ARE SOME MORE PICS TO ENJOY YOU LION, COUES, AND PIG HUNTERS.

Well here we go I hope you all enjoy the story and pics. We had three tags to fill mine, my dads, and my father-in-law(his first time). We were only able to get one. That was one hard hunt. We spotted a two point on sunday and never could get close. On monday we spotted a spike but my father-in-law had to work all week so he wasn't able to get him. On tuesday my dad and I saw the spike and two point. At this time I was thinking that was all we were going to see. So on wednesday we saw the two point again. Everytime we saw the two point he was 400 to 500 yards away. We couldn't get close because he would pull a hat trick. So I watched the two point for about an hour and couldn't decide if he was big enough. So I asked my dad, "would you shoot him?" He said if I don't he will. So naturally I got set up. We ranged the tree down from him and it was 420 yards so I thought he had to be about 450 yards (keep in mind this is an up hill shot too.) I thought to myself I will never hit him that is impossible. (gun 30-06 150 grain bullet). So I tried anyways. My dad said let me know when you are going to shoot. I put the crosshairs 4 inches above his back to compensate for bullet drop and said here we go-----BOOM----"did I get him?" There was a delay that seemed to be an hour and my dad said "y---yep you got him." I jumped up and gave him a big hug hands shaking and knees knocking. (if you lose that feeling there is no point going). So I headed on up to get my deer. When I got there, there was a bullet hole under his head and out the left eye socket. All we could think was that we didn't compensate for the wind so result was 8inch drift NO BULLET DROP. ANd for the rest of the family we could get set up on any they wanted. So here are the pics enjoy. "NEXT YEAR IT BETTER BE COLD" Clay

Thats right I did. But see the pictures were taken elsewhere. The only reason I did not go after them was because it is way way way to thick of brush where I got the pics at. The creek is the only opening. -
HERE LETS SEE IF THIS WORKS. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK THEY SCORE.

I also met pinalmtman on sunday. He was coming out of the pinals the same time we were, he honked (because of my sticker) and we talked briefly. Good to see some stickers out there. If you don't have one get one they are cool. clay
