    New rifle break-in

Get you a good COPPER solvent (some contain ammonia) and a good carbon solvent. Clean the gun first very well then fire 1 shot then get the carbon out first then the copper out. To make sure you have got all of it out look in the barrel with a light if you see copper keep cleaning. When you finally get it all out fire another round then clean again. Do this for the first 10. Then fire 3 and clean for the next 20 rounds then fire 5 and clean for another 20 rounds and you should be good to go. The only reason you are doing this is so you will be smoothing out the tooling marks left in the gun from when it was cut and if you did not clean out the copper you will not be smoothing anything out. I use Pro Shot 1 step cleaner and Pro Shot Copper Solvent. With my Shilen barrel i was told that I did not have to do this but did it for 1/2 the shots anyways, Better to be safe then sorry. Here is a way: http://www.rifle-accuracy-reports.com/barrel-break-in.html http://www.6mmbr.com/gailmcmbreakin.html http://matchgradearms.blogspot.com/2012/01/barrel-break-in-made-easy-easiest-way.html

    Big sweets or....

I love Coueszilla probably more than Sweets just because you can ACTUALLY measure him. Sweets is a dream. I know Ronnie has talked about sweets to you Jim because I used him as a resource for cameras. Ronnie set out about 15 cameras all in the area (it was more like 100 ) and still never got a single picture of Sweets. Till this day we always look for him. Hopefully one day I will stumble upon his head. I know that is still a dream of mine.

    Big sweets or....

I have heard of sweets single side antlers being found and measuring 69" back in 2009 that's only one side without of course a spread, Everyone has estimated sweets to be at 140" or bigger.

    Big sweets or....

Me and AZP&Y have been chasing this deer for years together. Granted we have not seen him since 2010 but we have seen some of his kin in the area. The genes are there just waiting for the perfect one. There are 2 that we know of that will gross 110+ in the area but they are very elusive. My and AZP&Y will be after them again this year with high hopes.

Don't know yet. I would say right around 12 lbs. Its not bad really. I expected it to be more. Valdada scopes are really heavy you put on a lighter scope and you would save a pound or 2.

    My Savage Build

I have now shot 6 groups and they all were 1/4 inch. Will be testing them at 300 this evening. Have a bunch loaded for a ladder test. Hoping 41.9 is my load if not a little tweaking will need to be done.

    My Savage Build

So far my best group was a 1 hole group with 3 shots but I need to do a ladder test at 500 (can't since the forest is closed) so I will have to do it at 300. Hopefully I can get a good read at 300.

    My Savage Build

The creedmoors are a tad bit faster and with the sharp degree shoulder it ignites the powder better. almost any caliber that has a sharp degree shoulder will ignite powder and contain pressures better. Most people are going to the 6.5 cm for its ability to seat the bullets as far out as you would like and still have LOTS of room in your magazine. I researched the 6.5 calibers for 6 months and when all was said done I sold everything I had to get 2 of them. They are that bad butt, Even factory rifles will maintain .5 moa or better. I can get out to about 1400 yards before I drop off the supersonic scale and still be maintaining 600 fps at 1300 yards with 140 gn bergers.

    My Savage Build

Stock is an HS Precision PSV118. This stock will fit the bolt release on bottom or top side. Yes a 6.5 creedmoor is short action but like others have said you can build a short action caliber on a long action but can not build a long action caliber on short . Groups are coming together still in the load development stage. Should have one dialed in by tomorrow. I will post pictures when I get done. I ave saved all targets. I can now run 20 rounds with NO copper in barrel which is almost impossible to do with a factory barrel. I have another 6.5 creedmoor but its the model 11 long range hunter. I will be doing all the same upgrades to it soon. I may start to build these and sell them if I can get my ffl. I have my gunsmith certificate. Just really don't want to take the next step untill our president gets out...

    Chronograph help

I have the magnetospeed. I can tell you this much I can promise the magnetospeed will smoke all the competition. I can set mine up in less than 1 minute and also no need for waiting for that PERFECT day to go shoot it could be raining sun shining or even nighttime and it will still work. You can set the bullet type for copper jacket lead core, copper jacket metal core, or copper. You can also adjust for whats called custom. You can even diagnose your shots from shot to shot. I have fully fallen in love with mine. If you would like to try mine before you buy one you are more than welcome to bring your gun and shoot with it. Everyone at the range always wants to shoot with it when they see it. I can promise you I have tried all the chronos and some get really nerve racking trying to obtain CORRECT speeds. I use to go out one day and get a reading but the next day get a completely different reading when I did not change anything. Then go out the following day and I was at the same as the first time. With the magneto every time I go out (as long as my load doesn't change) then it is always spot on. Here is their website http://www.magnetospeed.com/ Here is a review (not mine)
