He use to manage the shop up here in Globe, anyways he will steer you in the right direction. Good luck on your quest. I have always had the race quads YFZ450 that heck boys you don't need 4X4 all you do is plaster the gas and haul a$$ up the hill. 4X4 is for slow and old. Questions regarding used Utility Quads (ATV)

The fuel injected atvs are nice but if anything goes wrong with them they are VERY expensive to repair and complicated. Now on the other hand a carberator is alot easier to work with and yes even you can clean them out. Depending on elivation on carb atvs you may need different needles and or jets but if you are staying in arizona 2000 to 8000 elivation you should have no problem (I havn't at least). Honda, Polaris are good machines each has their own ablities like polaris you will not have to shift but the auto braking on down hill sucks (imo). I personaly like the quads you can shift. Now don't rule out Yamaha because thats all I have and imo are the number one machins out there. I have an old 86 yamaha shift atv and it still runs to this day and it even ALWAYS starts on the first attempt. Look for the important stuff like if the bike have been wrecked closly look at the frame (for hidden cracks) and also check on warranty items (if it still has a warranty). These little atvs are more expensive to work on than vehicles. Look at fluids, tires, for any signs of missuse. Most of these bikes that are for sale the sellers usually will take a slightly lower price than advertised so work it down if you can and if not look more don't ever just settle. Good luck and any more questions feel free to ask I have personally always owned a quad since I was just 3 years old and have always done my own repairs.

    Gett'n em out

+1 for the gutless method. Me and AZP&Y did it on his buck this year and we also did it on my wifes buck. If the buck is not easy to get to IMO this is the only way to pack a deer out and easiest. In the time it takes me to gut the deer I can have the deer capped, deboned, and headed back to the jeep. I zip from the back of the head all the way down to the tail and start to skin both the right and left side. I remove the back straps first then the back roasts. Then I move up and grab the front leg meat and the neck meat then cap him out to the bottom of his neck. I throw all my meat into cheese cloth and then into my backpack. The nice thing about doing the gutless method is face it when you get home you are beat and don't want to have to skin the deer and (for some let him hang) then process. Then there is taking the left over bones/hyde and trying to despose of it. When the gutless method is done you leave all the bones, hyde, and guts behind. Much easier imo than bringing him home. You really don't need to watch any videos it is very simple to do.

    New to calling

Right now anytime is a great time to hunt. When it gets warm usually you have to just extend your stand a little longer 45 minutes instead of 30 minutes because of the time of day. Always remeber if it is an overcast day or just snowed grab all your gear and get out call in sick from work if you have to. Almost everytime I have gone out when it has been overcast or JUST snowed I call them in like crazy. Good luck and buy as many mouth calls as you can and practice. There is no thrill like hunting the hunter.

HB 2072 Sale of big game tags

Here is what AZGFD has to say about this issue: Arizona Game and Fish Commission votes to oppose HB 2072 (sale of big game tags) Jan. 10, 2012 PHOENIX – The Arizona Game and Fish Commission voted unanimously today (Jan. 10) to oppose proposed Arizona House Bill 2072, a bill that would have reserved a large number of big game tags for a “qualified organization” to resell at auction or raffle. As part of its 5-0 vote to oppose the bill, the commission also directed its representatives to “clearly inform the sponsor and supporters of this bill that our opposition is not just to the bill as written, but to the entire concept of removing or adding any big game tags from the pool of big game tags available for the general public and transferring them to any private organization.” In discussion leading up to the vote, several commissioners expressed strong concerns over the bill. “We have a trust responsibility to manage wildlife for all the citizens of this state, and I see some real issues in this legislation that takes part of that away from us,” said Commission Chair Robert Woodhouse. “I think we need to speak on behalf of all citizens of this state.” Among the concerns commissioners expressed over this particular legislation are which organizations would qualify, how money would be spent, who would benefit, and what accountability there would be over expenditures. Commissioners pointed out that the proposed legislation differs from current law that authorizes the commission to issue a small number of big game tags to nonprofit organizations dedicated to wildlife conservation. Awarding these tags is through an open and competitive process that allows the organizations to auction or raffle those tags. All the proceeds come back to the Arizona Game and Fish Department for projects that support wildlife management. “Public trust assets must never be diverted to benefit special interests,” said Commissioner Norm Freeman. “The language of the bill itself is fraught with problems, and the very premise should be discarded in its entirety.” Chairman Woodhouse also made it clear during the meeting that neither the Arizona Game and Fish Commission nor the department were involved in the crafting of the bill, and this item has never been on a commission agenda. Nine constituents representing organizations or themselves spoke in opposition to the bill. No constituents addressed the commission in the bill’s favor. Prior to today’s meeting, each commissioner had received many personal expressions of strong opposition from various members of the public. HB 2072 was originally slated for a hearing in the House Commerce Committee on Jan. 11, but that meeting has since been delayed indefinitely.
