    New Custom Build Started

Yes I was just talking to my dad about this but I am afraid to do anything to it. I have always wanted a suppressor and have the money just am iffy on doing anything since she is shooting so good. I probably will never get that good of a group again at 300 but I know it can. Now to try 500 on paper. And then onto 1000 on paper. I wanna see her potential as long as my potential is there.

    New Custom Build Started

Go figure. I went out to shoot her today and still have over 60 rounds for the other rifle I sold. I took some measurements and everything throat headspace is the same as my last rifle so my rounds should at least work. They did better than work. ES of 9 fps and SD of 3. My 100 yard 3 shot group. My 300 yard 3 shot group. Best shooting rifle I will probably ever own.

    rifle stock hydrodipping

Great idea and its a great market. Just some info. If you do guns you can not do actions, receivers, ect without an FFL. Also you can not take apart the gun without an FFL. If you have people bring you stocks, scopes, accessories then you can. Just be careful so you do not get into trouble otherwise get the FFL. Just some info to consider.

    My Next Build

Thats why I went with the Shilen. I like all the gizmos on the mauserfield though.
  7. Great info Craig!!! Its so true. I found though the Panasonic DMZ-FZ70 will OPTICALLY take pictures and video out past 100x . It also is only about 300.00. I was going to get a spotting scope but with a side to side comparison with a swarovski spotter and the camera it out zoomed with clarity. Just something to give a try to save some money. Thanks again for the vid,

    My Next Build

Also I forgot to add the Tubb level and atlas bipod. I was going to go with the PRS Atlas is there a reason you are going with the older model?

    My Next Build

I am doing a similar build with the same concepts as you. Here is my list everything is ordered and on its way, Shilen DGR action and base Shilen SSS match 26" 6.5 creedmoor barrel Shilen trigger Manners T2 stock in Gap with MCS-DBM Valdada Rings Sightron Siii 6-24X50 FFP LRMOA scope. I will start a thread as soon as Items start arriving tomorrow. I have knoticed a lot of action manufactures are going to the floating bolt head or like design with savage threads for quick change. I love it really a good market to build. Have you seen the Mauserfield action.

    24a elk

Actually I believe EVERYONE tagged out. I just know of the 4 though. From the guys that were hunting they said everyone tagged out just dont know the score of the other bull. This of course was the first hunt. The second hunt I know of one bull and that guy also said all the other hunters tagged out.

    24a elk

I know of 4 bulls killed this last year that were 320 to 360. Not a single bull killed was below 300. It was not last year but the year before that a 400+ bull was killed.

I talked to forest service about this and they said NO. If caught you will face fines such as littering, feeding wildlife (yes forest service has this rule). Go for it just DON'T get caught.

Savage 6.5 Creedmoor CUSTOM for sale

I have a Savage 6.5 Creedmoor gun for sale. The action housing is factory but everything else on the gun is aftermarket. Here is the list: Savage Model 10 action DBM Shilen Stainless Select Match 4 groove ratchet 1:8 twist 26" NSS recoil lug NSS Barrel nut PTG fluted bolt body PTG bolt head Woolf spring Glades Armory Bolt handle Rifle Basix trigger set at 20 oz HS Precision Stock (bedded with Devcon) Karsten Comb Valdada 20 moa base ***SCOPE, RINGS, & BIPOD NOT INCLUDED*** I am asking 2000.00 for the whole set up. This gun shoots 2.25" 5 shot groups at 722 yards and 3.5" 3 shot groups at 1050 yards. 10 shot groups average .25" at 100 yards but you can easily but 3 rounds through the same hole. I have ALL load data for the groups produced above and will be given to the buyer. About 300 rounds through the gun. I can send you more pictures if need be.

    6.5 creed bullet choice help.

Everything mentioned will be great. WAATCH out for the 140gn a max though. I have seen a lot of different LOT numbers blowing primers and just seem too hot. Nosler is superior you will not go wrong with Nosler. Winchester now makes a 140 Grain Sierra MatchKing Hollow Point Boat Tail Winchester Match Ammunition. I have hear a lot of great reviews from guys shooting yotes and deer with them. Buy a box of each and see what the gun likes. I have 2 6.5 Creedmoors and use 140 gn Bergers with nosler cases. If you ever get to reloading the Bergers perform flawlessly.

Shooters App. How many use it and thoughts?

Applied Ballistics is shooters app just better. A Lot better

    Torque specs?

SOO TRUE 452b264. I have found that before even mounting the rings to the base I take the top off the rings and clean the screw holes of the rings (& base) with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Works really well.

Expensive optics - anyone have buyers regret???

I wanted the best of the optics also back in the day so I sold a bunch of CRAP I did not need and now I have some swaro 15. Big difference in what I thought I saw. I had a buddy loan me his Kiabab HD a year ago. I tried so hard to like the Vortex but dang I got a major headache from looking through them. A buddy got the new Nikon 16x binos and those are even better than the vortex. I then got into the long range game awhile back and new I needed a GREAT rangefinder well i forked out the cash and got the G7BR2. I can actually be standing holding the rangefinder and hit a mountain over 1700 yards away and it comes right back with a reading. So every investment depends on what is needed. If you only hunt coyotes and a few quail every year then no you don't need it. If you LOVE coues deer hunting and scouting then you bet ya get them. My buddy has the Leica 10x42 with the range finder and they are very crisp. If I were to get some it would be the 15x56 with range.

    what did I do wrong?

There could have been a lot that went wrong. He may have seen you walking in before you even saw him. Or like you said very educated. Coyote vocals is the best calls to use at this time of the year.
