  1. I have went through 550 rounds in the last 2 months getting ready for my hunt. Does that mean i am going to shoot one at 1000? 99% chance i will not. I have yet to shoot one past 550 yards. The only reason I practice out that far (farthest 1400) is too make the 500 600 yard shots easier. Just because you have the right equipment does not mean you can shoot it. Practice makes perfect untill mother nature gets involved.

  4. My dad got it done on a rough hunt. We heard the bull from over 2 miles away at first light by 10 am we got to him and he was bugling from his bed. After cow calling and him not coming we bugled and got him to leave his bed. At 11 am we moved into his bed and cow called him back in for a 10 yard shot with my dads Sharps 45-70. Bull did not even go 10 yards and expired fast. Only bull we actually saw (also saw 2 cows earlier in week). Took 5 hours to debone him and 10 hours to process meat. I am so glad that my dad finally got his trophy and both my son and nephew were there to experience their first elk hunt in the rut.
