If it's "out there" it's everyone's to share. Never understood that way of thinking. If it's been shared somewhere online then why are we scared to share it?

Can someone explain wtf is being talked about here? Big deer? Post some pics

Plants grow after they go dormant and in the middle of winter? News to me. Dump all the water you want on your grass in Nov-Feb and it's not going to grow. Of course it would be optimal for the ground to be wet going into spring when things start growing but the moisture from Nov has nothing to do with that. There is most likely good feed out there from all of the moisture in sep and early oct but it's not from Nov onward until it warms up.

Water in late fall and winter doesn't make anything grow. Other than water being easily available to drink, it's not any benefit to feed growth for elk. Maybe for deer down south where it's still warm. Im not saying moisture right now hurts, I'm just saying moisture from March-July is what really matters.

This moisture means nothing for next year. . Give me some moisture in March and April and I'm with you.

Def a GPS tracker. Im not saying the hunter got an special info related to its location from it but those sheep were def used to human interaction and not too concerned.

Call me a hater but I thought it was strange the story of a friend that drained his bank account for his buddy to draw a sheep tag with dismal odds somehow pulls it off to complete his 29/29 animal for a north american slam. Then they go and shoot a world record collared sheep that seemed like the herd would walk up and eat out of your hand.

Our family pulled 2 goulds tag somehow. 14 and 19 points.

Lol making a good case to get someone here to buy your house. .

Could you point me in the direction of a $1500 goulds tag? Every goulds hunt I've seen are $2500+

I listened to their commission meeting where their biologists made a suggestion to lower the limits and shorten the seasons and only two commissioners voted for it. The main reason one commissioner gave was that it would be too hard to let everyone know the regs changed and people booked guided hunts and it would mess them up. One of the commissioners that voted for the change was pretty upset and told the others they were being irresponsible when the biologists were telling them they needed to change something or there was a chance some areas would lose all of their quail. The one that refused to budge and was insistent on the whole guide thing was Goughnour. He must own a quail guiding outfit or something the way he refused to even consider it. Funny thing was this was after some meeting in May where they asked their biologists to provide more accurate data on bird numbers and then to bring it to them if they thought the quail were in danger and so the biologists did a bunch of extra work and brought them the numbers and half of the commission told them they didn't like their data and numbers so they weren't going to consider it lol

My brother got hit for a Gould's tag with 14 points. 29/30 or 31.

Check out visible. It is through Verizon so uses the same towers. I pay $35 a month and have had no issues.

Last year was Oct 15th, but the deadline was almost an entire week earlier than this year. I would guess it is going be around the 20-21st of October this year.

There's a youth hunt in 4b?

If he is a resident he can do his hunter safety all online and no field day required. If non resident he will have to find a field day to come down to. Or he completes a hunter safety course in the state he is in if possible. List of available field days coming up https://www.register-ed.com/programs/arizona/113-hunter-education-hybrid-in-person-field-day

Funny we as hunters think the elk are ours for some reason. Everyone has a right to enjoy them as much as the guy that waited 20 years for a tag. Does it suck? Yeah, but dealing with others comes with the territory on a public land hunt. If I want to go chase some bulls and get some video or pictures because it's fun to me I'm doing it. Obviously if I know someone else is actually on the bull I'm chasing I'd back off but other than that I'm having a good time.

Was sonora as bad as Arizons for rain? Curious how the growth will be this year. -
? Lol Noone said all the elk hunters just packed up and went home. There are still bulls being killed, but the fact remains this rut is the worst in many years, if not ever.
-
It will go down in history that the rut of 2025 was the worst many have ever seen. Hopefully not a trend.
