    SOLD-Toyota Tundra owners

Spruce up your stock Toyota with these (4) Toyota Tundra 18" wheels (overall in great shape, very minimal off-road scuffs, only due to looking for the elusive Coues) with BFG KO2 AT tires (maybe a few thousand miles left on these). Wheels, lugs, center caps and tires (275/65R/18), basically paying for the rims. $250.00 These will be available on Saturday 11/18. Located in Tucson.

They are sitting in my garage, for stock premium wheels they do look sharp. Like I said the tires will need to be replaced sooner than later.

Thanks for clarifying. The brown spots on the black is only dust from quail hunting the other day. I said good shape, but I would even say they are in great shape overall. Maybe interested in trading for a 20g shotgun capable of shooting 3"

    Hunting Motivation FUNK!!

There is always the nightlife in Nogales, Mex. it's only a stone throw away. We used to frequent it back in the early 90's and always made a long hard hunt more enjoyable!!!!!!

    Unique skull ideas

I primed and then spray painted my javelina skull (metallic Copper), turned out pretty cool. The next one I do I may keep the front (upper/lower) tusks white to give them some contrast. Using 50 cal casing to prop open mouth.

    Ringtail Cat

Cool critters for sure, I get quite a few on my trail cam out in Redington. Definitely nocturnal animals.

    270 WSM opinions

I shoot a Kimber 8400 Classic 270wsm and absolutely love it. My 3 kids (14 yr boy, 13 yr girl and 11 yr boy) also shoot it. Not one complaint, kick is reasonable for a magnum (no muzzle break) flat & fast shooting, loves the Winchester 150gr Ballistic Silvertip factory bullet which has allowed me and my to take the following from 150-450 yds: 3 elk 1 muley 7 pigs 1 lion 14 Coues 2 yotes I've shot it out to 650 and have all the confidence of it going out to 800 without any issues.

Anybody ever own one of these?

I use one of these at work on a daily basis. Pro Smooth riding, very fast, charges quickly. We just plug it in after 2-3 days of constant use and runs perfect until charge is needed again. Con If you have to replace the original OEM gel batteries, very very expensive, but I recommend replacing like for like. We went a different route trying to save $$ and used a different gel battery but found out we had to change the charging system to match the new batteries. I don't recommend that.

What happened today on the opener? ANYONE?

Game camera never had 1 buck come through and I actually got this buck 1 canyon to the north of its location, was able to tag out at 9:15 this morning, 250 yd shot. Saw 2 other bucks prior to taking this one. Tons of shooting, tons of people in Redington. My best to date, very happy with the character of the antlers.

    Part 2-Another Jr tag filled

This was my daughters 3rd time getting drawn and wanted a turkey (bowlers terminology). Since she knew I was going to spend more time with my youngest out in the field she knew it was going to be more challenging due to her swimming schedule to get out there. Well this morning we woke up at 4:30 and high-tailed it to where my son dropped his on Sunday. The wind was not on our side and knew the deer would be hunkered down or in some deep bowls. Well, after glassing for a couple of hours we find a solo buck working his way down into a bowl. Prior to shooting this buck, I asked her "we can pass and keep looking" and her response was, "I have swim practice later on dad, I just want my deer snack sticks and burger". Fine with me, so I range him at 180yds and she was able to harvest her 3rd WT buck. As some of us know, it's not the size it's the memories and being out in the field that keeps us coming back for more and more. Of course her little brother had to comment that his was bigger, sibling rivalry...you got yo love it!!!!!!

    Part 1-Jr tag filled

I took my youngest boy out first. He wasn't able to fill his last years tag so I was determined to put the time in on this hunt. We hunted all day Friday, Saturday morning and then Monday evening. With 3 kids, time is never on your side. Many miles were put on our boots as well as many hours behind glass, only to see an over abundance of does, never complained once. Well on Monday evening he was able to put his tag on his very 1st WT buck. That evening, I located 3 bucks and we got within 250 yds, after he missed 2 shots and scared them over the hill we went after them. The funny thing was, I was watching a buck that I thought he was getting ready to shoot but he found another one on his own and was able to shoot it at 150 yds. Couldn't have been happier. Got it to the butcher and the rest is history.

    Part 1-Jr tag filled

As for the deep rich dark antlers, because of the past Burro fire, the bucks were rubbing their velvet off on the charcoal/burnt trees. Kind of cool looking but very messy.

    Part 1-Jr tag filled

Unfortunately no, he wanted to hunt muley in 36A. He wasn't drawn for that unit and we couldn't get any leftovers. He is really bummed. Since he started hunting 4 yrs ago, he has gone 4 for 4. Now his streak has ended.

    SAWC YOUTH SHOOT IN TUCSON

Another great event put on by SAWC. My son had a blast, tied for second on the advanced shooters. My, soon to be his, trusty 17hmr was good to him. Seemed like all the kids enjoyed themselves and definitely some good and up & coming silhouette shooters out there. Safety was first and foremost, followed by a great group of staff. Moe thank you again for everything!!!!!!!

Jr hunt is right around the corner, it's always good to break in boots prior to heading out into the hills.

    Hunting brain farts

The night before opening day of quail in 1999, I staged my shotgun, shells & jacket in the garage next to my 30-06. Both guns were in a dark green canvas case. We get up before light and head out to 36A (off of Sasabe Hwy). We park and start unloading, birds are clucking, sun just popped up, going to be a great day. I grab my gun case and pull out my 06, if you can picture the scene when Ralphie drops all the lug nuts in the movie A Christmas Story, well the mother of all dirty words was said. Needles to say, we pack up and drive back home only to hunt birds on the backside of Mt Lemmon.

    spot the critters

This is a male, in one of the pics (not shown) he has his tail up like he is spraying his scent all over the place. I had a bunch of pigs and a skunk show up at night. Only 3-4 doe, wondering if that big ole mean putty kat had something to do with this. Regardless I do have a tag, maybe during my kids jr hunt in early Oct or mine in late Oct. As for the Coati, surprised only one came through, usually they travel in groups.
