    Desert Archers (3D)

Usually 2-3 courses, 15 targets/Rd. They are a kick in the butt, my kids love shooting the different animals. They have giant mosquitos, dinosaurs, deer, bears, turkeys, coyotes, etc....you can grab a score card and you and your buddies can talk smack to each other. We usually have a small .10 wager per target with carry overs if there are ties for the same target. I haven't seen it at TMP, but try a smoker round if you get a chance. You buy in for 10 targets and you get 1 arrow to see how you fare. The targets are strategically placed with metal surrounding the bullseye, about the size of a tin can in diameter opening. You hit the target you advance, you hit the metal.....you're arrow gets smoked and you're done.

New to hunting these birds and have ??????'s

I am taking my son on his 1st turkey hunt in 2 weeks. We will be attending the Jr Turkey Camp in unit 27/1. I have never gone so this is all new to me with the exception of watching videos. My camping/hunting boxes are filled with all kinds of deer/pig and elk gear, my questions is: What do I need to go out and purchase for this hunt? We have the normal camo clothes, do I need face paint or just the pullover see through face masks? I was told a seat cushion for the long periods of sitting. I am hoping we get a mentor for at least the 1st day for calling purposes, do I need a scratch box/turkey call/reed etc..... Weather is always unpredictable, but what can I expect for these units in April. I was told it gets very windy up there. If you guys have a turkey item check list that you use, I wouldn't mind plagiarizing it for future hunts. I am told once you go, you'll be addicted for life. Thanks in advance

Unfortunately won't be able to make it up there, I live in Tucson. Does Sportsman carry the Little Creek Calls? As much as I like living in Tucson, we don't have any really good hunting stores. I may have to order one.

What are anybody's thoughts on the Cody Woodsman Turkey Call? What other calls would anybody recommend for a newbie? Ease of use, quality of sound and most bang for my buck.

Never hunted them, but I've seen them as low as milepost 12 on Reddington Rd Far East side and as high as Bear Wallow campground west of the Az Observatory off of Mt Bigelow Rd.

    Card Hit - 2016 style

Absolutely...........Kenai is just a couple of hours away where the King Salmon fishing is phenomenal and the caribou and moose hunting is at your finger tips. Went there in 90' and camped in the forest for 4 months working in the canaries. The scenery, the fishing was awesome, the mosquitos sucked. Would have loved to have hunted but didn't have the knowledge/weapons to do so. Do it...............

    Who?

Trump hands down, I could use his squirrel toupee flapping in the wind along with a predator call and surely bag my limit.

    36A successful but unsuccessful hunt

The hot temps kept the pigs in seclusion this past weekend but I was able to pull off my 1st double in predator hunting. 3 yotes came running into the bottom of this canyon I was glassing and only 1 made it out.

    36A successful but unsuccessful hunt

Kimber classic 270wsm topped with a Kahles 3.5-10x50 scope. It really likes Winchester ballistic silvertip 150gr factory ammo. I need to invest in a reloading setup, because this particular ammo is always on back order.

    Holy Global Warming in January

Took my boy out this morning for another attempt at filling his jr javi tag out in 36A, great morning it was. Saw tons of deer, WT and Mulies ( mostly doe). We could smell the pigs, found their beds and tons of scat again but just couldn't get on them. On our way back to the truck happened to come across this guy. Definitely premature for sure. Needless to say he didn't get to go back to his burrow since I'll be back next week with my son. Don't need these around while I'm out kicking the sticks.
