Hunting since I was 10, but big game starting at 14 when I could actually pull back 40lbs, got my 1st pig when I turned 18 with a bow. Switched to rifle at age 21 and tagged my 2nd pig at age 25. Not until I was 32 did I actually tag my 1st mule deer. Learned a lot from making tons of mistakes and are slowly turning things around, after countless years of tag soup I may need to schedule a colonoscopy to extract all the tags that are lining my lower intestines. Whitetail-5 Mule deer-2 Javelina-16 Cow elk-2 Mountain lion-1 Got my son his firearm hunting certificate at age 10 just two years ago and he is on a roll. Whitetail-2 Javelina-1 Hoping the draw gods have some love this year!!!!!!!!

Does anybody have any thoughts on a Remington model 700 280? Availability of ammo? If you had your choice of 270 or 280, why? Let me know, thanks.

The ones we would catch from shore were anywhere from 7-8", just remember when cleaning these fish you can die from the poison if you clean them incorrectly. The trigger fish are an absolute blast to catch, those fish put up an awesome fight on light tackle, be curious to see what they do when speared.

We now have a house in Playa Encanto, by far the best beach up an down that area.Even though the beach is lined with gorgeous houses, it is absolutely vacant with people, trash and peddlers. I hate going to California and Florida beaches, maybe I'm becoming an old fuddy-duddy and hate being around that many people.

I go 3-4 times a year with my family now, prior to wife and kids 5-6 a year and this was way before Sandy Beach became over run with high rises. Any place just behind competition hill (this is the hill you race up & down with quads and buggies) in the rocky area while the tide is coming in will produce tons of rays, trigger fish, parrot fish, sea trout and puffer fish. Just be careful while walking in the rocks toward the deeper water, I have seen a lot of poisonous rock and scorpion fish. Be sure and post pics.

Opening morning success in 37A and now waiting for WGP to make some scrumdilly chorizo. I was the only one out of 7 hunters to fill their tag. The pigs were slim pickens this past weekend, even the G & F gal said not many tags were being filled. I couldn't believe the amount of hunters their were roaming the hills and the amount of shots. Their were times we would count 11 on up to 13 shots consecutive shots and it wasn't just target practice at camps, it was up in the hills. It was a great hunt, wonderful weather and good times.

I can't believe all the lizards I have been seeing out and about and it's mid February, I would like to have a few more months of not worrying about the buzz snakes.

Well due to this great site I was able to sell my Rem 700 7mm mag and my Huglu o/u 12g to other great CWT members which enabled me to actually purchase another Kimber 270 WSM. Now I have two identical rifles, same type of ammo for my boy and myself. Anything goes wrong we know we can shoot the other without any doubts. Went to the range and dialed in my 2nd rifle, man these shoot nice, can't wait for next week. Start of my piggy hunt. Thanks to all that make this site so great!!!!!!!!!!!

Likewise Greenback. I did end up meeting the other gentleman just down the way and purchased the Kimber 270wsm. I like it a lot. The rings that came with it were 30mm so I ended up buying some new 1" on the way home. I think I'll put them up on the "Pay it Forward" section and see if anybody needs any. Thanks again.

My son drew a jr javelina 36 A,B & C. On Saturday we will be down in 36A. Can't wait just to get out and do some glassing, maybe fill a lion tag and maybe have my son shoot his first yote. Hopefully we can post some pics.

If the weatherman is right, then Sunday will be the only day I can get my boy out to seal the deal. Last week the wind was so bad, it was very discouraging. Hoping to get him on some pig skin early enough so daddy can watch some pig skin later that afternoon..

This is a tasty one I stole from my parents when they cook flank steak. place tenderloin in ziplock baggie -finely score the meat (you can puncture or finely slice not to deep) -add 1 cup olive oil or wesson oil -3 Tbsp honey -3 good shakes of Montreal Steak seasoning -1/2 of chopped up white onion -1/3 cup soy sauce -2 chopped up garlic cloves -1 Tbsp curry -1 Tbsp ginger let marinade for 4 hours and grill. You won't be disappointed, if not to your liking, stop eating and give me a call to take off your hands. I will send you a voucher to KFC for your time.
