Yes, Courtney reloads for her gun and also does some of my loads. She seems to like it as much as I do. I do supervise and truth be told, I weigh each load to make sure she didn't miss any power charges. Brent

Hi, Courtney is shooting a Ruger m77 243. She is loading 100 gr hornady boattail with 36 gr 4831. Both of my girls have been doing a lot of shooting out to 300 yards but off of a bipod only. Got to practice with the shooting sticks. We got 50 yards (by accident) from a toad but got busted before we could get a rest. Sometimes too close is a bad thing.... Brent

Hi, I know it's kind of a funny topic for the desert, but I'm looking to buy some rain gear. Any recommendations out there? Looking for something lightweight, but durable. Been looking at what cabela's has to offer. Any ideas? I have always just carried a poncho for emergencies. Brent

cohofishing replied to ultramag's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Hi, I put one on my 300 wsm, winchester model 70. I love it. Had a gunsmith fit and bed the action. Made a totally different gun out of it. It fits great and I like the look a lot better. Bought if from cabelas when they had free shipping. Happy Thanksgiving, Brent -
Backpacked in on Thursday night and spent three days looking over some great country and some nice deer. Only saw one real buck and blew a long stock on him. Took this 81 inch three point at 380 yards, 515 Sunday night. Packed in 60lbs in the dark and packed out 95lbs in the dark. Three days without seeing another hunter PRICELESS Brent ,,

Hi, Just my 2 cents. I use the Sprint pro mini w/ Jim white head for my 15's. It's a okay till the wind blows. When it's blowing I hang a rock from the center post. It really helps and I just leave the cord attached. It helps the weight issue. I have had mine for six or so years. Good set up

Hi, Here's a lion kill I found while scouting my November whitetail hunt in 33. I scored him gross a 93 inches (allowing 2 inches for the broken point). I hope his gene pool is still running around. Brent

Collect Magazines for the Troops!!
cohofishing replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Conservation Group Events
Hi, This is great. I have a hundred or so older magazines. Still great reading. One question. Will they take them sooner? Working for the railroad, the odds of me having the 13th off are slim. Brent -
Hi My guess is 96 inches Brent

Awesome!! Congradulations Brent

As you can tell I didn't read my post. What I meant to say is "you make a guy feel pretty good"!!! I don't even think my own mom would call me pretty. Thanks again for all the comments. I guess I'll go to bed now. It was a long trip from yuma. Brent

Hi, Here he is. My first elk. 305 gross 5x5 shot at 18 yards over a waterhole at 715am. Not the biggest but he sure looked big in the early morning light. As usual, I was running late thanks to work. By the time I got to 10, there were camps everywhere. I got to my little waterhole at 930pm and could see there was still water with my light. Back out a mile or so and set up camp. Went in at 530am and set up my blind as quiet as I could. Nothing. A few mule deer does and that's it. Twelve hours later and I was rethinking my plan. I was by myself till my dad came in from Alaska on Monday and was determined to stay at water. By 600pm, a mulie buck came in and then some piggies. About 630pm, three cows came down and a bull followed. He was a 7x7 and I had him at 53 yards. I passed looking for a better shot. He held up till almost dark and the he watered at 21 yards looking right at me. I held my shot and he walked after his cows. I kicked myself in the butt the whole walk back to camp for passing the 53 yard shots. Next morning, I was in the blind at 515am and the bulls were making some noise. I watched three bulls water before it was light enough to shoot. Not aqain!!! When I could see my pins, I cow called. A bull replied and soon I could see his horns. Bull fever hit and I stopped looking. He watered at 18 yards and when he turned, I double lung him. He bolted and hit the dirt 50 yards from the shot. Then the work started. Brent

Hi, I've spent my share of time in a ground blind and sometimes doubt my sanity!!!! That buck gives me something to dream about. Awesome Buck After spending 20 hours in a blind this weekend, it was great to come home and watch that video. Brent -
Hi, I have a hunt map of unit 10. Honestly, I have found that for general information it is okay, but for unit 10, there is almost to much on the map. I have to use a magnifying glass to read some of the information. It does come on some great paper. Comparing it to other maps I have, and to scouting trips; It seems to be missing a lot of waterholes. I have been using the on line version of topo explorer. It is a national geographic program that you download and then buy the 7.5 maps that you need. Each map costs $1 and you can download them to three computors. I have them on my home and laptop. You can then print what you need on their special paper or just normal paper. Eastman's did a story on maps in the August bowhunting issue and they recommend www. otbpmaps.com, off the beaten path maps. You custom your own map with the information you want. Brent

Hi, I own both. A browning a-bolt 300 win mag and a winchester m70 300 wsm. I say just go with the 300 win mag. It is cheaper to shoot and easier to find factory loads. I wish I had just spent the money on something else. I shoot 165gr bullets w/ 66gr of 4350 in the short mag and 150gr bullets w/ 70gr of 4350 in the win mag. My win mag shoots better at longer rangers than the short mag. Brent

Hi, Have you tried looking at Jim White's adapters? Amanda sells them in her store. If she doesn't have what you need, I think she is can order what you need. I used his adapter for my ultravids. I do use his tripod head, but you don't have to. The base just screws into a standard 1/4 inch tripod screw. It works great if you carry you bino's on your chest. One piece stays with the bino's and the other with the tripod. Brent

Well, I figured it out. I looked back at my results, and for bighorn it showed a hunt number, and NT DRN I guess Courtney will be hunting one of our tags. It looks like she didn't draw. Brent
-
Well, I drew second hunt 33, whitetail my wife drew first hunt 36a, whitetail my daughter shows drawing hunt number 1158, but in the tag number it shows NT DRN Any Ideas? Brent
