I had a havalon blade break off while boning out a whitetail. If you haven't used one, they are deadly sharp. I was pretty nervous until I found the broken blade. I also use mine only for caping. I found I liked a knife to bone out a animal. I didn't like having to worry about breaking a blade or even changing the blade. Rather carry the weigh of a knife and a sharpener. Brent

Can't find the topic I started about sat phones. Taking Amanda's advice, I went and bought the Delorme InReach SE. I think it is great. It will work perfect for my Colorado hunt. I like the pre set messages and the fact that the person you send the message to can click on the link and see your location at the time of the message. It took a little time to set up and to be honest, I have not used any of the alternatives, but it gives my wife peace of mind that I should be able to get help if I need it. Been hunting solo for years but for some reason this hunt is making her a little nervous. Bought it at Gander Mountain, and with the $50 rebate, it cost $250. $25 a year to keep activated and $15 a month for the service I choose. You can pay for the months that you need to use it. On a different note, I bought new maps for my GPS from www.huntgpsmaps.com. OnXmaps. I bought the four state micro sd that covers Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado. It does a great job of land ownership, game units, and trails plus topos. It works with the garmin basecamp on your home computer, also. Brent

I use one that is made by Smith. Bought it a Lowe's in the hand tool section. It is a diamond sharpener with a coarse and fine side. I recommended it to a friend who was able to by one there early November. Works well and not to heavy. Brent

Got my Colorado muzzle loader back from Wildlife Design. I had Becker and Chris send out my buck to have the velvet put back on. Came out a little darker than the original velvet, but when I shot this buck, the velvet was about dead. with a "skull cap" My 2014 three state trifecta on the wall

There really is no comparison to the real stuff. It does look fake but it is real enough to bring back some idea what the buck looked like when I shot it. I like the mass all the way to the tips and brings back memories of seeing bucks with their perfect velvet. This buck was no where near perfect when I shot him so this is more like what he looked like in August.

Got to say I love this rifle. These guys seem to know how to build a gun. I haven't been able to find any H4350 to match Mike's load for this gun so I loaded it out of IMR 4350. 123 SST's, 42.5 4350, and CCI 200's. 3010 fps at the barrel. Two guys and two groups at 100 yards. Pretty good shooting for even a guy like me. Brent

Courtney is in the Air Force ROTC program at the U of A and is probably going to officer training school this coming summer. The gun they shoot is a Beretta M9 and I would like her to have something to get ready with. I know it is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone had one of the civilian Beretta models they would like to sell. Live in Sahuariata, so I would love to find a used one in the Tucson area.
