http://www.brunoshooters.com/product/7742.html About the best price on Lapua .260 brass I've found. They were out of the .260 when I ordered from Midway a few weeks ago at around $108 per hundred. Bruno's sells them individually as well.

Congratulations, what a great looking buck! Big ol body and neck on him. How was the weather down there on your hunt?

We wound up hunting around the Roberts Park and smoothing iron area just outside of Alma with half of the tag holders it seemed. Super tough hunting for us as we were out of our element and a ton of hunters up there. There were convoys of vehicles rolling in like crazy, looked like a parade at times haha. Glassed up deer everyday but only a few bucks and nothing huge. Was told they got a lot of pressure from the muzzleloader hunters the hunt before and that this is the most pressured year they'd seen. Seems most people seeing bucks were the road hunters and people jumping them, of course. Glassing and trying to find large areas to glass with our 15's was tough, but we filled our tags with a couple meat bucks. Nothing special by any means lol.

How was the hunting and deer sightings? We've got the Mulie hunt starting this Saturday and leaving tomorrow. My first time hunting 23. A friend I'm going with has been telling me we won't have to scout other areas and not to worry because we'll have access to a private ranch. Well to make a long story short I finally got the confirmation last night that we don't have access. He says he knows a couple places but very thick and we'll have to walk and jump them, I'll do what I have to but really hate hunting deer like quail. I prefer to glass them then plan the stalk. Edit: It looks like we'll start around Alma after all and try to make something happen. As long as we get in a decent area we'll figure it out and we can glass pretty decent so that helps.

If you reload don't dismiss the .260rem as it's virtually ballistically identical to the 6.5 Creed, plus Lapua makes brass for the .260. Brass and reloading supplies for it are readily available as well. Keep an eye out on gunbroker too. I chose the .260 over the Creed primarily for the Lapua brass option myself, plus got a great deal on it. I bought the LRH and my first group out of that gun shot a .297" sweet gun and awesome round. I'll get those groups cut in half with a little tweaking and on a calm day.

REALLY hate to do it but have to sell to this beauty justify another rifle. This was going to be my lighter weight low recoiling backpack gun but decided I need a little more extended range after all so I'm going with a faster 6.5mm Up for sale approx. 8 mos old. Savage model 16 Stainless trophy hunter XP model. Bell and Carlson didn't make the stock I wanted (realized this unfortunately after I bought the rifle when I went to order it ) so I had to modify this stock myself. I Injected spray foam into hollow buttstock portion to help solidify and improve density, grooved and ran aluminum rods lengthwise into forearm and epoxy filled to strengthen and make more ridged. Stock is very stiff now. Skim bedded action, and glass bedded recoil lug & about 1/2" of the rear of the barrel at nut for a bit more support and ridgidity. Finished stock with a nice green textured finish. I have probably close to $70 alone just in materials for the stock finishing. I always get compliments on how sharp the gun looks and feels! Comes with a Witt Machine clamp on muzzle brake that I haven't shot on this rifle yet, it's still loose. I have shot a buddy's 243 with his shooting same loads as mine and is VERY effective, also shot on a 300 winmag and extremely effective as well. Includes the following.... I'll approximate prices for total I've got into it, not including tax, shipping, FFL fees Savage 16- $625 Materials for stock- $70 Labor-Priceless haha Muzzle brake-$95 107- berger 105 grn hybrids $39 434- Hornady 105grn Amax $108 15-Loaded rounds for fouling shots or whatever/brass (9 Hornady American Whitetail & 6 Amax reloads) $10 128 pcs-Hornady Brass, been impressed with it's quality $112 RCBS full length reloading dies-$36 RCBS neck sizer die (new and unused)-$31 Does not include scope or Bipod, stock bases and 1" rings that came with it. Gun is incredibly accurate and I've shot a .150" group with it at 100 yards, see targets. 26pcs of the brass are trimmed, flash hole deburred, sized, and chamfered inside and out & ready to load! I have over $1,200 into it Asking $750 for everything -
SOLD! Savage 16 243 Stainless, super accurate, reloading supplies
stalkincoues replied to stalkincoues's topic in Classified Ads
LolThat's a $600+ scope and a $100+ bipod. I'll let you do the math on that one haha Ok guys make me some offers by pm if interested since I'm only in the valley till tomorrow am, maybe we can work something out. I'd rather sell it to someone on here that will utilize it's accuracy and all the work I've done to it vs. rebarrel or worse just use it for the action only. -
