Like Red Rabbit, said the S&W 686 (stainless) 357 is what I would recommend.I bought mine used but like new from a freind for 400 dollors. I would also recommend a BIANCHI leather holster to keep it in.

I will use my RUGER M77 25-06, it has a bull barrel and a LEUPOLD 3X9 VARI X II. Perfect combination. It too has a weathered stock because it has been all over coues country,But I would not trade it for the world.

AND LIVING HERE IN THE SOUTHWEST, NOTHING BEATS THE .357 MAG. THE VELOCITY IS PERFECT FOR HANDGUN HUNTING AND PERTECTION.... PS... NOTHING LIKE A GOOD SIDE ARM THAT FEELS COMFORTABLE.
