I knew my 16 points wouldn't get me into the bonus for 23N early or 9 muzzy, but I had to take the chance of getting lucky. It's hard waiting when you know you could have any archery tag you wanted. I just cannot take the full 2 weeks for the archery hunt off. So I wait.......how many folks have 17 or more points and are in my shoes and feel the pain?

wow I would have thought you would of drawn that 3B tag 2nd choice this year????

This is the plan. Didn't start out that way though. Couple of years of no cow tag.....maybe I'll put in for a bull tag......couple years of that maybe I'll put in for a better unit for bull......couple more years maybe I could draw this muzzy tag......hey now I'm in it for the duration...... I should post pics of my hair color from when I started the process until now

This is my muzzleloader buck from this weekend. What a great day for hunting yesterday! The ground was soaked and a steady gentle breeze in my face. I felt like a ghost. I got right in the middle of these bedded deer. This buck was with 2 others and 10 doe.

Nice bucks! My wife had this tag and it was really tough, hot and dry. I'm still cleaning dust out of the cab of my truck. She passed a real nice 3x3 on day 2. We did see a great deer about 300 yards in UT. She was looking for a buck like the ones pictured above. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it.

Thanks guys! It has been a week and I'm still fired up. Went out today in the javelina unit and found a herd of pigs for next week. Hopefully I'll come across a nice buck to fill the 2013 tag too.....

Wow sorry to hear you are having issues with it. When I mounted the scope with the 2 pc quick release Leupolds, I had no issues. I did not use a laser to boresight, just started close. I don't remember having to mess with it much at all. You are correct that had I bought a new rifle with issues it would have been taken care of then, not held onto for 10 years to pass on to someone else. Definitely wouldn't go to one of my favorite sites to place a turd either. Rest assured that the rifle shoots well after you get the base/rings sorted out. heck put those quick release rings back on it!

Nice antelope Mark!

I admire him self-reporting, although I did not see his comments regarding the Dept. being "heavy-handed".

I thought I had some xtra cash in my pocket, but it was just a ball of lint

12BW late for my wife and 39-42 muzzy for me.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. She did draw her second choice 12BW late. Hard to be disappointed in that as a back up plan. I hope the replies here are useful to someone with the tag for the 13s. Good luck this season!

I've been trying not to put the cart before the horse, but it's driving me nuts. My card was hit for 2 deer tags. My wife has been putting in for strip/kaibab for 8 years. Her 1st choice was 13A and 2nd was 12BW late. mine on a separate app were Dec. hunts. We have always talked about hiring a guide for the strip if she ever drew and know that it is really the best thing to do to make the most of the tag. If it is the 12BW tag, I know a few people who have hunted it that will help and am thinking about DIY on that tag. So if anyone has hired a guide for the strip or know anyone who has, I would be very interested to hear about their experience. Also if anyone has hunted the late hunt in 12BW I would enjoy hearing about your experiences as well. Oh and how much extra do they charge to bring a non-hunter along(me)!!!! Thanks and good luck!
