thanks for the comments guys, it was definetly a sweet hunt with great memories made. My brother and I had ran through the scenario of a double smack down so many times and we finally made it happen. Good times.

This buck was taken on the october hunt 2008. He was killed opening morning with one shot at 450 yards. Clay with mogollon taxidermy did a great job. He grosses 108"

I'm looking for some good quality 2-way radios. All the "talk about" types seem to always give us trouble. Battery life, hard to hear, low transmition quality, etc. Also i want to be able to have an ear bud so we can talk to each other without worrying about being to loud. Any info or ideas would be helpful. Also I don't want to spend to much money, maybe $375 max for 2 radios. Thanks guys.

I am a "mormon". I served a 2 year mission in Sao Paulo Brazil. I love to hunt coues deer. Can anyone here on this site tell me where I can find a big coues buck that will score over 100", I'd like to shoot one.

In my experience's the 130gr. nosler ballistic tip is not a good bullet for game at long range. I shot a deer at 450 yds with it,(out fo a .270) it barely penetrated before exploding, lucky for me I got part of a main artery and after a few minutes and a follow up shot he was down. My brother shot a buck in 2007 with his .270, also used a 130gr nos ballistic tip, at 500 yds, high shoulder, the bullet penetrated the hide, hit the shoulder and glanced off as it fragmented.It did not penetrate the body cavity at all. The impact knocked the deer down, but he had to finish him at a closer range. I don't know about anyone else, just my experience. Now I shoot a .300 Ultra mag, 165gr, scirocco- no more long range issues.

i know gamehauler...i just didn't want to be laughed at by pricing it to high, you know. I really don't want to sell it, things are just tight. I am selling a lot along with the bow. You all know what I payed for it all brand new.(close to $1000) I was thinking more like $375.

Here are some pics from my late 22north rifle bull hunt: I only had friday and sat. to hunt, so if it had bone on his head I was gonna shoot him: I took this pic from where I shot from. The red circle is about where the elk was when I shot him. 575 yard shot. .300 ultra mag- leupold VXII with turrets., 165gr. scirrocco As he lay. The wind was blowing pretty hard from left to right, I had to hold about 20 inches to his left for the wind. Just some more pics. enjoy

tell me about it! these 22 bucks suck, they don't even have any mass...

Opening morning found my brother, brother in law and I on a ridge overlooking the area we had scouted 3 bigger bucks and several smaller bucks in the weeks before the hunt. We were there at first light and started glassing. A lot of cattle had moved into the area and we weren't seeing any deer where we had been seeing them previously. I began to glass a ridge a little further away. Within a few minutes I had spotted 2 bucks, 1 was a bigger buck. 6:50 am. We packed up and started running up and down the 3 ridges in between us and the bucks. We got to the spot we wanted to be and began glassing but we couldn't find the deer anywhere. 7:20 am We moved up to a better vantage point and set up for the long haul...we were gonna find these bucks. After a little while I found them, they were at the top of a long, tall ridge. We got my bro-in law spotting, my brother ranged them- 447 yds. We dialed up our scopes to 500 yds and got down prone for the shots. My brother asked if he could shoot the bigger buck of the two. We didn't have time to really look at them as they were headed into some thick brush. My brother has been hunting a few years longer than me and hadn't yet taken a decent coues. (I have two nice deer that score in the 90's) I told him to get on the bigger buck. His buck turned broadside, BOOM...WHOP! one buck down. My buck turned to see what was going on...BOOM...WHOP! Two bucks down!! They died 30 yds apart. My brothers buck was a pleasent suprise when we got to him. He has a ton of mass that carries all the way out, he has 2 double brow tines and grosses 107''. It was great to share that moment with him. My buck scores 83'' and is my 3rd biggest. I was thrilled it was a great hunt!
