    .277 150 gr Nosler LRAB

lots of success with the 150 gr. LRAB out of our .270s. since last year: coues deer 800 yards DRT coues deer 225 yards DRT Javelina 250 yards DRT bull elk 1025 yards DRT (bullet broke both shoulders, took out top of lungs. found in offside hide. retained 70% of its weight) Looking forward to a lot more real life testing this year hopefully 3 more coues and two more bulls. Are 15X's that much of an advantage

15s on the tripod and 10s around the neck with at least one spotting scope in the group. I can't imagine glassing for any extended amount of time through a spotting scope.

    Keeping the passion

I think this is where the sacrifice and unselfishness comes in as a parent. Your kids become your passion. My kids are still young, but I hope that when they are grown I will still have the drive to do things for myself. I see that in my parents now that they are empty nesters. If you feel like you are in a rut, make a choice and get out of it. Pick one of your passions and rekindle it. Some good things to think about, thanks!
  22. Your doctor is right scoutm. The American College of Sports Medicine does use BMI as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. They also use the ** sign to leave this decision up to the physician on a case by case basis. Using the people on biggest loser for example: after 2 months on the ranch they are a lot more fit than when they started. Most of the time their blood pressure is within normal limits, their diabetes are gone or close to it, they are off most all of their other meds and their health issues have been largely resolved. But their BMI is still off the charts and they still have lots of weight to lose. There is study after study that indicate cardiovascular risk factors are a product of low fitness levels (not exercising) and not to how much a person weighs. Like has been said, it depends what your goals are and what you want to accomplish. On the show Extreme Weightloss the clients want to get to 50% of their original body weight by the 9 month mark so they can qualify for skin removal surgery not because they still aren't in shape yet. Also as far as opinions go I agree that as a society we the definition of "overweight" or "obese" have changed. There is science behind it all but it's not that complicated. Eat better, eat less and move more then good things will happen.

    CrossFit

I workout and coach at BuildUp CrossFit on Greenfield and McDowell. CrossFit is about being in shape to enjoy the things you love. Be in shape so you can go hiking, hunting, running, biking, swimming or join in any sports, etc. that you want to try. The community is great and by an overwhelming majority we want you to be smart, be safe, get fit and have fun.
  24. Thanks for sharing and good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle. It sounds like you have made some great progress. It's always good to self evaluate and make healthy changes. Eating well and exercising daily is so much more important than a number on a chart or on a scale. That being said, here are a few of the issues with BMI charts: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=106268439
