Snow pigs rock! last snow pig I shot was in 5deg and skinned it and put in bed of truck and it was froze there for 4 days till I had to hose out of bed to butcher in phx.

Wellllllll it can be just as fun if not more.. with few less lb's of tasty critter after success. usually you bugle in 1 crazy angry/h___y bull but with javelina you may call in 20 and they often have intimidating attitudes that raise the hair on your neck. LOVE IT!

To elaborate.. kidso if ya want a lesson in calling pigs I will trade it for shooting a piggy after you of course. Same here. I only call as a last resort. More often than not, it just makes them run faster. I find that if they haven't smelled you yet, but only heard or seen you, then it's more likely to work. Nothing more irritating that guys wandering around the desert blind cold calling. They aren't stupid animals and get educated pretty quickly. Just fyi ugly dude I get about 90% full blown charges then I turn to herd vocals and even have them bed down by me.. its not all about screaming the loudest piece of plastic you buy off a shelf! But thanks to those who wont take the time to learn their vocals, like those who just blow elk out with bad calling, it makes javelina a bit easier for me. L.O.L. urban and high traffic pigs in center of populated areas with every body and brother calling for yotes are a bit difficult but positively callable you just cant go at them like they are yotes, fox, bear etc.. PIGS ARE HIGHLY VOCAL!

I have not read that anywhere that I can remember and as far as extra coin.. well if they didnt sell 1/2 there tags and now they do that is double $. you cannot use 1 tag for 2 pigs correct and now all those left overs get bought up so that there is double $ correct? maybe im missing something in the math.??

Call call call and if that dont work then grunts and squeals I promise you can bring them to you from that 100yard point rather than spooking with walking noise. a virgin herd is hard to find BUT different tactics than usual will work on most. pigs are HIGHLY PROTECTIVE! Make is sound like your tortchuring a piglet and you will draw blood if they dont get ya 1st. good luck! Same here! I archery hunted pig & deer in an area few years in row that had honkers flying over all day but was not a legal shotgun area and it drove me crazy!

I have heard guys rave on the savage axis for the $ they seem quite nice. now all have replaced stocks after while with a boyds or some such brand but for $199 for gun when they run specials ya can't go wrong. now if ya had few more bills I believe there are 2 gr8 223 bolts on here for sale that I have looked at a number of times.
