  1. Not great pictures, but the the big cutter buck was a buck we looked at all summer and had him glassed up along with the buck we shot the night before the season and ended up choosing the other buck to put to bed... Anyway, by far the biggest cutter buck we have seen (this was 2015). He was killed that year by AZ Pronghorn Guide service and was a toad. Love the buck we shot, but not so sure we made the right decision.

2nd buck was a 19B buck many years ago (04-05ish?). My buddy had the rifle tag that year and we heard this one killed during the archery hunt. Way before phone scope. No cutters, but cool 19B buck. If anyone knows of this buck, would love to see a a good picture of him and know what he scored (no prongs or mass, but was cool).

2nd 1 looks more like a spanish goat. Crazy

  2. I am a commercial salesman for a large local HVAC distribution company.

Their are 2 main problems with residential HVAC.

    1. Tech schools are not teaching techs to be skilled at diagnostics they way they used to I don't believe. They are pushing them through school as fast as they can and just teaching them to be parts changers. They are not teaching them to master skills they should have.

    2. Alot of companies, especially the larger ones, have gone to paying techs mostly or completely on commission. This means the more crap they can sell you the more money they make.

Some companies pay a tech little or nothing for a warranty repair like a capacitor or contractor, so they have to find something to sell or do that is not under warranty so they make money for a service call.

Questionable business practices have helped force alot of techs to do questionable things, and make questionable recommendations. They have to give in to the pressure of doing questionable things or if they dont produce enough income for the company they get fired.

The commercial sector isn't as riddled with bad business practices, but they do still exist.

    ................

As for wholesalers causing the problem in the market that is not nearly the problem that the contractors cause.

We follow the laws set by the government for refrigerant and efficiency standards.

Our margins on new equipment is pretty thin to be honest. The contractors often make quite a bit higher margin then we do on our own equipment.

Factory parts do have a larger markup but part of that markup is for easy installation of direct swap parts, and to cover man hours for warranty claims (valid and fraudulent).

Generic parts are low margin items. If techs new more (back to the schooling issue above) techs could use a lot more generic parts and save people money. They often want to sell the higher price part that is easier to install though.

What kind of mark up would you consider this? 😂

From my earlier post 👉This company wanted $685 for fan motor and $452 for capacitor + the original $100 diagnostic. 😡😡😡👈

oh btw when i emailed how upset i was to have someone even suggest i pay this they returned my $100 or actually $99 diagnoatic

  3. I was born in North Phoenix 46 years ago as the city grew I believe my go-kart tested every new parking lot that was put down :-) I do miss the days of using that cart and collecting everybody on the blocks newspaper and stacking them up in front of one person's house at the end 😂 okay some of my neighbors didn't like it. Good luck with the sale and if there's a story behind that baby backpack meat hauling thing let us hear it 😏

  4. It was a perfect hunt for my Dad. He has shot dozens of deer and elk, but he has always been a meat hunter. This was the first time he ever passed on a buck, and he passed 52!! Born and raised in AZ and had never had a Kaibab tag. Construction took its toll on his body and he became camp cook for a few years until he put in for the Champ hunts. This is his once in a lifetime buck!!!!

He also killed his best bull elk on a Champ hunt last year!

It's always so crazy in 2018 when facts appear. :)

I just got prices for a new unit from someone who sponsors some hunting stuff and i believe he is member on here so not gonna name them. This company wanted $685 for fan motor and $452 for capacitor + the original $100 diagnostic.

Called my hvac father inlaw who almost choked when i told him prices. He said motor parts price $89 and capacitor $15

Obviously I had the work done by somebody else. Especially since I had the original company give me quotes on new units also and after calling three other places and all of them costing roughly one-third the price good. Well just imagine my thoughts now about the original company

    George Brasil? LOL

We don't do residential and as a DDC Controls Contractor we don't scalp customers. Parts markups are typically 30% and hourly rates are about 60% of the big companies.

We get most of our customers from referrals and treat our customers fairly. When a customers facility has a problem we usually log into the system and resolve it in half an hour. Facilities that are out of state or three hours away really appreciate this. Integrity is everything, really.

    Not G.B.

  8. If you have a Pic rail a whole lot of options open up. I have small ( 3 - 5 Slot) Pic rails on most of my rifles for my bipods. I just bought a Magpul 5 slot polymer to try today on an ultralight 300.

It would be better to have the balance closer to the middle if you want to use it on a tripod.

Here is one of the quick release Pic rail adapters I use. I just add the correct tripod plate to it.

Looks like my wife and i could set up on a buck with that without even arguing. 😂 by time i get her set up with the stupid thing i use on tripod deer are long gone so are the birds and any other living creature within 1/2 mile or so.

  9. Welp, tried it out & promptly returned it. lol When it was nice & calm, it felt great. When it was windy, it felt like a sail. The attachment on & off was really annoying to me. I felt like if I saw a huge buck driving the road underneath the power lines or something like that & I had to jump out real quick I wouldn't want to be stumbling on my 4 foot stabilizer. No matter how much I try, I just can't be like Jim Burnsworth or Nate Simmons.

    🎯🎯🎯

You said under the powerlines or something

    😄😂😄😂😄😂😄 love it 👍

  10. Surprised no one has said the strip

I have always just wanted a giant muley buck. 36 years now of chasing muleys and it is still my dream hunt. Turns out i believe i was just donated a archery Strip tag but now i gotta make my dream happen with a jacked up leg and probably still a cast or walking boot. :/ luckily my idea of success does not mean 200 inches or better but wouldn't it be nice. :)
