Thanks for the interesting information. I think where they live may play a factor as well. He was full of wild wheat grass seeds.
-
About an inch each side and pretty worn down/broken. 10” beard. My digital fish scale had him at 25.10. Not sure what he was eating, as there was zero acorn crop in 27. But his fat kept him from blowing away. Ha

Show Low

Same with all the lakes up here. Lower than they’ve ever been I was told.
-
They’re in field often. Depending on weather, they shouldn’t be too difficult to locate, IMO.
-
Just not factual data in our state. Wish we tracked better. Mandatory reporting for all hunts would be a good start.

There’s just as many of not more from muzzy folks around my place, so it’s not weapons specific…..at least by my place every year. There’s no real data to support either way, unfortunately. Wounding rate is acceptable, in terms of management, providing the animal recovers.

You’ll need to explain how you propose to implement the testing (logistically, financially, and justification) then bring it forward to the commission as a proposal. If they agree with your assessment, they will request the department to create a focus group to discuss the feasibility.

It was signed by the Governor last week and goes into effect on July 1, 2026.

Two separate archery bull elk hits early this am. Seems both the wife and I drew.

You ARE the reason the commission changed the requirements…..you simply refuse to see it. But, good luck to you……and I would check with an actual warden on the sight being legal.

I guess with that train of thought a sea horse must be a horse? 😂

Hunter is from Show Low
-
Apparently G&F was consulted prior to harvest and the hunter was told he could legally take the animal.
-
I have no problem with it, as they are not a native species in AZ.
-
Actually, one was killed by a hunter on the North Kaibab. Officials believe it migrated down from Utah.
-
It’s a big Billy for sure.

Wife and I both have turkey and Javelina tags.
-
They’re bugling in my field every night this week (3B). Saw a mature bull breed a cow a few days ago……that will be a late calf!
-
Took this yesterday evening after a rare late October thunderstorm. Reservation Lake.

I saw a pretty good bull breed a cow this evening, so there’s some rutting still going on.
-
Congratulations on a nice bull……and to think some say there are no big bulls this year. 😉
-
There will be a few more than that killed this year. Surprisingly, I’ve seen a few decent bulls this year. Yeah, I’m a transplant…..but I’ve been hunting this place for almost 40 years. 😁

Yup…..just dinks this year.
