I was pretty 'die hard' bowhunter before when I lived in the land of fruits and nuts......but now that my wife and I are both retired, living full-time in God's Country (White Mountains), and we both bowhunt, I'd say a 9 or 10. If we're not hunting something, we're out scouting new areas up here. She arrowed a small buck up here on the last day of the season......next hunt for us is KS the beginning of November.....then more bowhunts in AZ at the end/beginning of the year. Took me 30 years at my job to be able to get to this point. Hopefully we both stay healthy and can continue with our hunting adventures. Have I told you I LOVE this state? WHT_MTNMAN: I sent you a PM a while back......you get it?

So I guess Ed F was correct? It is a sad deal, no matter the reasoning. I feel for his family.

4.5 years now cancer free.......haven't chewed tobacco since! It's a terrible thing that has affected everyone in some way.

Already retired.....to the White Mountains full time. Cant imagine being anywhere else.

Heck even Kali is less than that....it's 150 yards....same with several other Western states. I understand 1/4 mile with firearms, but that's a poke even for those long range boyz.
-
1/4 mile equals 440 yards
-
440 yards for a bow.....interesting.
-
You working on mine, Tom?
-
There won't be THAT much of a difference up there, IMO........I'd keep the tag and hunt, personally.

My partner was up there (Bab') about a week and a half ago and said the antler growth looked normal......heard the Strip was down a bit but still good.

Just stopped by the Forest Station in Lakeside and the lady at the front desk was just reviewing an email that advised the fire restrictions have just been lifted for the entire Apache-Sitgreaves national Forest.

Was over in Eager last evening and they got dumped on! 8 of running water going down all the streets.....I have received just over 4 at my place in Lakeside since July 5th.
