As was already pointed out the numbers lie. The interperations just depend on what side of the line you're on. What ever the numbers are, the system is broke and needs to be fixed. If you need numbers to figure that one out you've got other problems to worry about. I've seen reports that seem to show how much money illegals are costing the economy, and I've seen reports that show how much money they are adding to the economy by doing work that the citizens don't want to do. I'm not sure if there is a correct answer, but I seem to believe there are strong arguements on both sides of the issue. That's why this is such a HUGE problem!!!! There is no simple way to fix it, and no matter what the government does to make the problem right it will more than likley hurt someone. I just get real tired of many folks saying things like "send 'em all back"! It's not that simple! Because the problem has been ignored for so long the issue is not as black and white as many make it out to be. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Putting the burden on the employeers to police the problem is not a good solution!!!

Just call the Kenton guy and ask him. He's very helpful and knowledgable.

Great job, congratulations!!!

The real truth is that if people were allowed to carry guns on campus it is very possible that someone with a gun could have shot and stopped this crazy dude before he killed as many people as he did. Ths answer is not tougher laws against guns, it is encouraging more people to have them and to be prepared to use them for their own protection.

If you buy a new scope you may want to take a look at the Ziess Conquests at camera land. For the money they are real tough to beat and they have an option for target turrets. I shoot the 6.5x20 and love it! Got it at camera land for $650. If you just want to add turrets to your current scope then take a look at the Kenton Industries website. They make turrets for a lot of different models, but not all, and I think they're under $100. If you call them they are very helpful and willing to answer your questions. You might have to leave them a message, but they will call you back. http://www.kentonindustries.com/

The scary part about this legislation is that it was written and introduced by a group of conservitives. I think Nappy felt pressured into signing it because she didn't have any better ideas of her own and Washington wasn't/isn't about to pick up any of the slack. Since there were no other real alternatives she didn't want to stand by and do nothing. What happens to Arizona's economy when there are no more jobs for the illegals here? Our unemployment is usually around 3.5 to 4.5 percent which is very low and pretty much means that anyone that wants a job already has a job. If you get rid of the illegals there will not be enough legal workers to fill those empty jobs. This new law may have been a good solution 20 years ago before the problem was out of control, but like it or not now the only realistic means to solve the problem is some sort of guest worker program. We've just become to reliant upon Hispanic Labor.

"...and this one obviously is having an effect." Don't you think it's a little pre matature to be claiming victory all ready? It's not even January 1st, the law doesn't even go into effect for another week. I think it would be safe to say it's getting pretty good attention or a great deal of public reaction, but it will be some time before anyone can measure the "effect" of this legislation be it good or bad. We'll see when the lawsuits start flying how the terms "knowingly" and "intentionally" stand up in court. Not to mention the manditory use of a voluntary government program, I still can't figure that one out???? The more I see the details of this one I really beileve it was Nappy's way of skirting the issue! She knew she didn't have any voice or power in Washington, so she did the next best thing, she signed legislation that made her look pro active when in reality there will be no legal muscle to dish out the punishment.

The Americans With No Abilities Act
TAM replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
But don't we already have Unions that are currently protecting these people's rights anyways? Leave it to a bunch of liberals to create more un-necessary laws for us! -
Putting the burden of proof of citizenship upon business owners is just a cop out!!! The Federal Government should be the ones enforcing the laws and boarders, not the business owners!!! Why don't we take the new law a step further and make it every Americans responsibility, not only should we not give them jobs, but make it illegal to rent them a house, or sell them a car, or serve them dinner in a restaraunt, or sell them groceries???? Why are we putting it solely on the shoulders of the employeers and not get everyone involved?? Arizona is going about this backwards. It should have been resolved years ago before it snow balled to what it is today. Here's an idea??? Let the Police do there job and let the business owners do theirs!!! Don't let the government throw this issue back in our lap because they lack the spine to deal with it directly!!! If Mr. Nappy had any clue how to govern for the people he/she would be camped out on the White House lawn screaming and yelling to get Washingtons attention!!! Instead he/she signs this garbage piece of legislation to wash his/her hands clean of the issue. All of this asside, the new law is so full of holes and gray areas that it will no doubt be close to unenforceable in court. Employers are running scared right now, but after a few citations get thrown out because they can't prove the "knowingly" part, then we'll be right back where we started. Don't take this post the wrong way. I agree 100% that there is a BIG problem and the system needs to be fixed!!! I just completly disagree that this "new law" is a good way to fix the problem.

Nice bucks there! Congratulations on another successful hunt!!! If that buck scores 91 inches then I'd guess your buck at about 88, and the other buck at about 78 or 80. Great job guys.

Dilemma, how would you deal with this??
TAM replied to fatfootdoc's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have a buddy who is also a goofball in the forest as well. He likes to hunt, but his skills are pretty bad. It's taken several years for me to seperate myself from him when it comes to hunting. I know what you're feeling and wouldn't want to ruin a friendship over it, but I would also want my kids to be safe! I would make up a lame excuse that this year you really want to spend some quality time with your boys and that you want to put in seperatly. -
Couesslayer, when you say you have quanity in 23 you must be referring to the Burros specificly because the areas I've hunted in 23 outside the Burros have extremley low coues deer numbers. In fact I would say that in 23 outside the Burros there is quality not quanity. For what it's worth the sheds in my avatar picture come from 23 outside the Burros, and with a 12 inch spread they would break 120 inches.

I think that anytime a area gets a reputation of having some trophy potential that many people assume that there are monsters everywhere you look. Even on my Kaibab hunt a month ago we all shot nice deer but not monsters by any means. If you work hard in these so called trophy areas your chances are better for shooting a big buck, but there is never a guarantee! I've never hunted the Burros but I'll bet there are some real good bucks there if you work hard.

$12 million settlement against developer
TAM replied to .270's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
That dude is a money hungry slob that thinks his $hit smells better than everyone elses! -
I have never crimped any of my rifle loads. It's not necessary. You should focus more on finding the sweet spot for the seating depth and just don't worry about where the canalure ends up. You're not trying to make a last minute Mexico load are you?
-
Congratulations!!! A 93 inch coues is a good buck in anyone's book. I'm just curious what happened with holding out for a 100 incher?
-
Either your kid is really small, or that is a great big piece of bone!!!
-
OUCH........I think that's Matt Hughes way of B slapping Serra and telling him he's a wuss for backing out!!!!
-
I didn't realize that Hughes GSP III is a title fight. That makes it more interesting for sure! As for the next season of the ultimate fighter. I'm not a Forrest Griffen fan at all!!! I think he's a tuff dude and works hard, but he's nothing more than a whoppin boy in my opinion. I just don't think he's got real great skills. I think Jackson will destroy him. I think Chuck would destroy him. I'd rather see Keith Jardine in there than Griffen. JMO I think Pulver is next in line for Faber and that they're supposed to be fighting in three months. Should be a good fight! If Pulver can't beat Faber then I don't see anyone else beating that California pretty boy anytime soon.
-
I believe Chuck will be 38 before his next fight. I like like his raw style, but I don't think he has what it takes to work his way back up again. There are to many young tough guys to get through and I certainly don't see him taking the belt from Jackson if there ever was a third fight. You never know though...... look at Randy??? Unfortunatly Matt is in the same "old" boat as Chuck. If he looses to GSP again I see his career slipping away, and he may not ever get the chance to shut Serra's loud mouth. If he beats GSP, I'll bet he beats Serra in the spring and then goes on to get his title back for awhile. Either way he's still a stud! I wish we could have seen a Hughes vs. Gracie fight while they were both in there prime.

To me passing on a 108 inch coues is like passing on a 380 inch bull elk, or a 195 inch mule deer, you should be shooting 108 inchers anywhere! Great buck!
-
I love my .270 Weatherby Mag, but since that isn't part of your question I'll have to go with the 7mm. I like fast and flat and the 7mm should be able to push a 140 greain bullet faster than the .270. I think it also makes a better elk rifle if you were to load some heavier bullets.
-
That's a nice buck! I've liked him since the first time I ever watched him fight. I sure hope he puts a whoppin on GSP here in a couple weeks! Not to hijack your thread, but did you see Jens Pulver choke out Cub Swanson in his first WEC fight? I thought it would at least be a close evenly matched fight!!! I hope to see Pulver fight Faber for the title in the next few months. Faber is very talented, but I think Jens is much more experienced and may be the one to knock him off the top.

Just mind your p's and q's and remember they have a different way of doing things down there. Obey the rules and you should have a great trip!

Way to get it done!!!
