Yes. Safety is my number one concern. I have hunted boarder units before but never back packed alone. If you decide to go that route just be careful and keep a sidearm. If you draw 36a or b. Let me know and I will try to point you in the right direction. Same goes for 33. -

Yes. I have used 250 grains for quite some time now with no problems on deer elk or pigs. That was with 100grns of powder.
