I thought they averaged the 2 together?

But again, the main issue here is applicant b did not even apply with applicant a.

You are looking at an "application" screen within the portal. The individual points column are species points for each individual, and group points are total species/loyalty/hunter-ed points. This screen doesn't show the combined and averaged points for the group even though the column is titled "group points".

Doesn't really matter if some guy didn't actually apply, this screen thinks they did; I'm just telling you what those two point columns are showing. The upside is, this screen isn't a real time look at your application.

  2. The portal is nothing but an app that gives the user a look at their application history, by hooking into the application database, retrieving and formatting your data for viewing, with few exceptions like creating an addl username. It has no affect on any  of your application data.

It used to work, although slow to update, but it isn't needed to carry out the draw. You applied thru a different web address and changed credit cards thru a 3rd party processor. All it has done is cause frustration for everybody involved. Turn the dang thing off, run the draw, and provide email/telephone results. Just like they've done for years.

It takes UTAH 90 days to issue draw results and they do not even tell you how many tags are in each hunt.

What date were you promised AZ draw results?

AZ tags mailed by April 2, they don't post a results date.

how can Utah turn its bear draw around in 8 days and other states have their chit together but we still can’t get it right?!?!

    come on man

Because UT was smart enough to not hire the joker that created this mess.

When I entered his info it pulled it all up as an existing customer?

Because he has an account within the draw system. The portal is a separate entity that they are trying to link to the database and have failed miserably. They've regressed to the point of adding customer data to portal accounts by hand. They're doing that as a convenience so people can see their results, points, and other info, not because that data is needed for the draw to happen.

  6. Ron Wold is the only guy I've seen that does true predictive odds based on year/year accumulated data but he only does Oregon. Gohunt and Toprut do run simulations for several states and the trend line Gohunt uses can be a predictor of sorts and seems to work pretty well. Toprut shows the individual point pools for hunts so you can see where you are vs the Gohunt trend line.

  7. GoHunt doesn't show you your odds of drawing a hunt, they show you what your odds were for the previous draw. If you want to see those odds you use the points you had going into that draw. If you have 4 now, you had 3 then.

If you want semi predictive odds for this year you need to look at last years individual point groups for the hunt you are interested in but that doesn't really work either; there are hundreds of applicants at every point level that only bought a point and those guys don't show up in the odds reports. You also have people that change hunt units as their points increase. GoHunt uses their trend line to show the points required over the past few  years as kind of a predictor.

I called last year and they said as long as they first 3 digits were correct it would be okay- what drives me crazy I have purchased my license from G&F every years in person - and it doesn't show up

Exactly, there is nothing but a syntax check on the license number data field if you enter it manually. If it's not correct you can't get past  it but there is no code to verify the date.  Paper apps need to be entered by hand at the dept and usually never show up although those were migrated on the initial update but some have since disappeared.

My experience was not smooth. The password they sent me was not working so what I thought was lower case L  (l) might actually been an upper case i (I) hard to tell. Also I tried # as a special character no work but * worked. Good luck all BTW I finally got it to work.

they do use the vertical bar "|" as a special character (shift key and \ key)

  10. If you used to login in with your email, you need to use the new username the dept created and their password. Once you have done that, you can then log back in using your email and you can change the password back to your old one, provided it meets the special character requirement. it took 2 minutes and I'm logging in just like I did before the change, email and old password.

50 tags in the bonus pass and 12 of those are NR with the lowest NR drawing with 17.  yes

You say only 6 residents are above 12 bonus points drew in the bonus pass and the other 32 in the bonus pass had less than or equal to 12 bonus points.

    that's not what I said

    residents bonus pass tags, 1 @14; 2 @13; 24 @12; 11 @11

elk tag numbers 68 and 69 does not sound random????  to me it sounds like maybe two guys putting in together one guy having 16 points and maybe other guy having 19 or 20 points??

just curious how Az fish game does the draw.  Big time Congrats on drawing the tags. Best of luck on your season and killing a great Bull

also My son was successful in drawing a 5Bn early archery tag.

draw results for 2020 unit 1 early archery, bonus pass, NR

    1 app with 22 points

    2 apps with 20

    8 apps with 18

and 1 app out of 22 drew with 17

Only 6 tags, in addition to the 12 nr bonus tags, were drawn in either pass, above the 12 point level; ie 232 tags were drawn at 12 points and below.

    Congrats to those that drew.

  13. Yes, for the 2019 draw. There was 1 resident 1st choice at 19 that drew, a 2nd choice at 17, and another at 16 that didn’t draw, then 1st choice started stacking up at 15 and lower.

they issued 7 tags out of 9 apps in the 15 point pool, 6 were 1st choice.

They issued 6 out of 13 in the 14 point pool, that’s where the 46% is coming from. Not sure why they didn’t us the 15 point pool for their odds display.
